Bailey Smith has finally broken his silence on his romance with Tammy Hembrow.

The 24-year-old AFL player revealed details about his short relationship with the 31-year-old fitness influencer during an interview on the KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O Show on Monday.

He stated that he and Tammy are just friends and that she won’t be joining him at the Brownlow Medal ceremony.

Kyle Sandilands asked, “So, what’s happening between you two? Are you going out with Tammy tonight?”

Bailey clarified, ‘That’s not true. I didn’t want to talk about football all night and bore her. She doesn’t really like it, and we’re just friends.’

‘So, you guys aren’t exclusive or boyfriend and girlfriend?’ co-host Jackie Henderson questioned.

Bailey confirmed: ‘No, we’re just mates.’

The AFL star then revealed he was taking his jiu-jitsu instructor to the annual awards night.

I’m bringing my jiu-jitsu coach with me. He’s a really good friend, and he’s planning on drinking a lot tonight, he told me.

The Daily Mail was first to report that Bailey and Tammy had a date in early August on Australia’s Gold Coast. They enjoyed a luxurious dinner at the popular Rick Shores restaurant in Burleigh Heads.

Bailey and their partner returned to the Glitter Strip and were visibly affectionate during a stroll to Nobby Beach.

Okay, so after that whole thing, Tammy flew all the way to Melbourne! And get this – she had dinner at this super fancy place, Entrecôte, in Prahran. Then, she posted about it on Instagram, and honestly, it basically screamed ‘we’re a couple!’ I’ve been following them for ages, and it was *so* exciting to see!

There’s been a lot of talk about whether the fitness influencer will attend the Brownlow Medal ceremony next week with Bailey.

Okay, so get this – just DAYS after Tammy said she was totally fine being single after breaking up with Matthew, she’s suddenly got a new romance?! I can’t even keep up! It’s like, one minute she’s heartbroken, the next she’s moved on. Seriously, I’m obsessed with knowing every detail of her life, and this is just…a lot to process!

Matt and Tammy got engaged in December 2023 after just three months of dating. 

The couple married in November 2024, but rumors of trouble started earlier in 2025, and they announced their divorce in June.

By August, Tammy had confirmed her new romance with Bailey.

Matt recently shared on his ‘Where’s Your Head At’ podcast that he ended a relationship, explaining it was to protect his own mental well-being.

Honestly, it really stung to hear that he was still hurting from how quickly Tammy moved on after they announced their breakup – just two months! It’s tough to see someone you care about going through that, and it clearly bothered him a lot.
