Bailey Smith has shared his true thoughts about his romance with Tammy Hembrow.
The AFL player, 25, appeared on the Today show this week and insisted the pair are just friends.
He explained that Tammy, who is 31 and six years older than him, has become a valuable mentor, offering him guidance and wisdom.
He said she’s become a good friend recently and has been giving him some helpful advice, as he spoke during an uncomfortable conversation.
‘She’s a bit older than me and I need it. So she’s been good,’ Bailey added.
Oh my gosh, you guys wouldn’t BELIEVE it! They asked Bailey point-blank if he was basically calling Tammy a… well, you know, an older woman who goes after younger guys. And he totally froze! His face went bright red, and he just stammered, trying to find the right words. It was painful to watch, but also… fascinating. I was on the edge of my seat! He was so flustered!
‘No, no… you’re throwing me under the bus. I threw myself under the bus,’ Bailey stuttered.
He added: ‘She’s the best though, honestly. She’s helped me with a lot of things.’
When asked about a possible romantic connection, Bailey admitted, ‘Yes, there was definitely some attraction, but it was never consistent.’
Smith recently clarified his relationship with Hembrow, but it wasn’t the public declaration fans anticipated.
