BAFTA’s Memorable Moment Nominees: Which Scene Will Win Your Heart?
2025’s BAFTA Television Awards P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award nominees have just been revealed!
Six highly praised television series from Gavin and Stacey, The Traitors, Bridgerton, and three others will compete for a prestigious award at this year’s ceremony, vying against each other.
The category is unique as it’s the only one where the general public can actively participate by casting their votes for their preferred scene.
In a fierce competition reminiscent of a duel, The Traitors, Gavin and Stacey, Bridgerton, and Strictly Come Dancing are like Mr. Bates versus the Post Office, both sets being adversaries in their respective domains.
Chris McCausland’s rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” has previously been nominated on two occasions, with a win coming in the year 2022.
In the finale episode of Gavin and Stacey, viewers will have the opportunity to revisit a significant moment: when Smithy seeks advice from Mick regarding proposing to Sonia.

During the moment when the couple was about to make their vows, under the watchful eye of the registrar, an unexpected turn of events had Gavin interrupt the ceremony, encouraging his closest friend to reconsider his choice.
As a devoted follower within our family unit, the Shipman/West clan, I along with others, come to my feet. It was Mick, Gavin’s father, who remained seated for a moment longer before he too stood up. At this point, Smithy turned to Mick and inquired about the next steps to take.
The moment leads Smithy to finally realise that he loved Nessa, before vowing to go after her.
In another setting, the relationship between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, which evolved from friendship to romance in Bridgerton, has been recognized with a nomination.
As a devoted admirer, I found myself caught up in the heat of the third season’s climax when, after endless contemplation and finding no one else worthy, Colin finally confessed his feelings for Penelope. This heartfelt declaration took place within the intimate confines of a carriage, serving as solace for Penelope, who had been shattered by Lord Debling’s callous actions.
At last, they succumbed to their desires; Colin raised Penelope’s gown from behind in the carriage, leading to an intensely passionate conclusion.
In “The Traitors,” viewers can cast their votes for a pivotal moment when Diane stuns everyone by disclosing that Paul, not Ross, was initially believed to be her child.
This way, the sentence maintains its original meaning but uses more conversational language and simplifies some of the technical terms (such as “scene” to “moment”) to make it easier for a wider audience to understand.
Initially, the pair participated in the competition individually without disclosing their relationship to each other as fellow performers. However, it wasn’t long before spectators began to pick up on a major secret that was unveiled in the third installment of the show.

In the category under consideration, the scene where Jo Hamilton discovers that the debt she owed had unexpectedly doubled during her call to the Horizon helpline, in the conflict between Mr. Bates and The Post Office, is nominated.
In the end, Rivals gained a nomination as Rupert (Alex Hassell) exhibited his passion for tennis in an unconventional way – without any clothing.
In a private match set against the backdrop of his grand estate, I find myself squaring off against none other than Tory socialite Sarah Stratton, who’s quite the sensation among the British elite – much like Emily Atack.
She is married to the spouse of Deputy Prime Minister Rufus Jones, who is known as Paul Stratton. Yet, their marriage seems untroubled by this prominent position, and neither her nor Rupert appear excessively concerned about it. Interestingly, she too has broken free from traditional tennis clothing.
Discussing this year’s selections, Paul Ludlow, president of Carnival UK & P&O Cruises, commented: “The year 2024 was exceptionally impressive on television. The nominees feature moments that evoke laughter, tears, awe, and introduce characters we have come to cherish.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I deeply appreciate the transformative impact of television. It serves not only as an educator but also as a beacon shedding light on various aspects, sparking profound discussions – and this year’s list embodies all these qualities. I eagerly anticipate May, when we can acknowledge and laud the achievements of the nominees and winners alike.
