BAFTA Nominations: Biggest SHOCKER Ever!
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has unveiled the complete lineup of nominees for both TV Awards and TV Craft Awards, in anticipation of the upcoming ceremony slated for next month.
For the very first time since its inception, Strictly Come Dancing didn’t receive a nomination, causing quite a surprise among viewers and fans alike.
The hit series Baby Reindeer garnered eight nominations, making it the frontrunner, having gained international acclaim since its launch the previous year.
Richard Gadd, the writer and lead actor in a series based on his real-life stalking ordeal, has been nominated for the Leading Actor category. Meanwhile, his fellow cast member Jessica Gunning is competing for the Supporting Actress award.
In the “Limited Drama” segment, the show “Baby Reindeer” will square off against “Mr. Bates vs The Post Office,” a dramatic series on ITV. This series is inspired by one of the most significant miscarriages of justice in British legal history, where numerous innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses were falsely accused of theft, fraud, and accounting irregularities due to a faulty computer system.
In the nomination count, both Mr. Bates and The Post Office as well as the Disney series Rivals and Apple TV’s Slow Horses each received six nods.
Among the nominated shows for outstanding entertainment performances are Ant and Dec’s program, The Traitors, and Stacey Solomon’s show “Sort Your Life Out.
