As many expected, Adolescence is the frontrunner at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards. Out of the 124 programs nominated, this popular Netflix drama received the most nominations.
The series received an impressive 11 nominations, including one for Best Limited Drama – the night’s highest award in that category. It will be competing against I Fought the Law, Trespasses, and What It Feels Like for a Girl for the top prize.
The show has also received numerous nominations for acting, recognizing Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty, and Christine Tremarco for their performances.

Graham and Doherty collaborated again on A Thousand Blows, a Disney+ historical drama that received seven nominations. It’s competing for Best Drama Series alongside Blue Lights, Code of Silence, and This City Is Ours.
Both Doherty and Aimee Lou Wood have been nominated for awards for their work in two different series. Doherty is recognized in both the Leading and Supporting Actress categories, while Wood received nominations for Film Club and The White Lotus.

Graham faces tough competition for the Leading Actor award. Colin Firth, Matt Smith, Taron Egerton, and Ellis Howard are also nominated for their roles in Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, The Death of Bunny Munro, Smoke, and What It Feels Like for a Girl, respectively.
Walters and Cooper are nominated for Best Supporting Actor alongside Rafael Mathé (for The Death of Bunny Munro), Fehinti Balogun (Down Cemetery Road), Joshua McGuire (The Gold), and Paddy Considine (MobLand).
The International category is full of strong contenders, including The Bear, The Diplomat, Pluribus, Severance, The Studio, and The White Lotus. Viewers will be voting for the Memorable Moment award, choosing from clips featuring LOL: Last One Laughing and The Celebrity Traitors.
The comedy category is shaping up to be a close race between Amandaland and How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge). Steve Coogan is nominated for the latter, but Amandaland dominates the Best Comedy Actress nominations with three contenders: Jennifer Saunders, Lucy Punch, and Philippa Dunne!

The reality show The Celebrity Traitors was a major hit, earning five nominations. Meanwhile, Casualty, Coronation Street, and EastEnders will compete for the title of Best Soap.
Greg Davies, known from Taskmaster, will host the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards on May 10th at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The awards for technical crafts will be presented earlier, on April 26th, and hosted by Maisie Adam.
