Building upon the triumph of “Bad Sisters” season two, its creator and lead actress Sharon Horgan unveiled plans for a fresh, compelling drama centered around divorce.
The unnamed series is a joint production underway, with Horgan’s company Merman and U.S. broadcaster HBO collaborating on it. Remarkably, HBO has already commissioned an entire season for this project.
In this role, Horgan portrays a woman in her fifties who is divorced, seeking both companionship and intimacy. Simultaneously, she is devoted to caring for her aging parents and a son who may not yet have reached the expected level of maturity.

Horgan expressed his delight in collaborating with Casey, Amy, Francesca, and the HBO team once more. He’s particularly thrilled that Merman will have the opportunity to keep crafting stories for a company known for hosting some of the most legendary TV series.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the news! Amy Gravitt, HBO and Max’s executive vice president of comedy programming, has expressed our collective joy at being reunited with the incredible Sharon. It’s her unique ability to draw from her own experiences to craft characters that resonates so profoundly. Her humor doesn’t just make us laugh; it makes us feel a little less isolated, and that’s what truly sets her comedy apart.
Additionally, her keen eye for suitable materials and her eagerness to guide others in sharing their stories make us excited about the fresh perspective she will add to our team.

This year has been exceptionally prosperous for Horgan’s firm, Merman, marked by the debut of the “Amandaland” spin-off from the hit show “Motherland“. The series received acclaim from viewers and managed to secure impressive ratings, leading the BBC to commission a second season.
It has just been revealed that the duo, Horgan and Merman, are set to create a fresh Netflix series featuring Rachel Weisz in the lead role.
