Bad news for Happy Valley fans as Siobhan Finneran issues update

Siobhan Finneran has shared a disappointing update on the future of Happy Valley.

2023 marked the end of the third and concluding season for the popular BBC crime series, leaving viewers yearning for more content, be it a new season or a spin-off, ever since.

On the show, Finneran portrays the challenging character of Clare, Catherine Cawood’s (performed by Sarah Lancashire), and she has recently discussed a potential scenario. However, this isn’t the long-awaited update that fans are hoping for.

In her recent interview with The i Paper, she stated emphatically, “We’re not going to do anything more about it. Let it rest as is.

In September 2023, I, a devoted fan, echoed the sentiments of Rhys Connah, the talented actor who portrays Catherine’s grandson Ryan, as he shared an update reflecting creator Sally Wainwright’s decision to wrap up the series.

Initially, he stated that it won’t occur, expressing regret as he added, “What they had planned to create are the three seasons, and the narrative has come to an end.

As much as I’d love to be part of its production, it’s crucial for the tale’s integrity that we wrap it up after three seasons. That’s my take on it.

Instead of “Happy Valley” no longer being available, its followers can look forward to immersing themselves in Wainwright’s upcoming BBC drama, titled “Riot Women”. This captivating production will debut on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer towards the end of this year.

In the forthcoming series, we follow a band of ladies as they embark on forming a punk rock group. This musical endeavor serves as a spark that ignites significant transformations in their personal lives.

Currently, Finneran is set to launch a fresh ITV crime series called “Protection“, and they’ve just released a first teaser trailer for it.

Detector Inspector Liz Nyles, portrayed by Finneran, experiences a dramatic shift in her life as she becomes embroiled in a sensitive matter involving a security leak within her Witness Protection Unit.
