Bad Bunny will headline Super Bowl 2026 halftime show

Bad Bunny will perform during the halftime show at Super Bowl LX, according to an announcement made by organizers on Sunday.

This marks the Puerto Rican musician’s return to the Super Bowl, having previously performed alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez during the 2020 halftime show.

Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, is once again handling production of the event. They began working with the NFL in 2019, providing expertise on live music and social justice projects – which includes choosing and organizing performers for the Super Bowl halftime show.

As a huge football fan, I always look forward to the big game, but honestly, the halftime show is just as exciting! Every year, everyone’s buzzing about who’s going to perform – it’s become a massive cultural moment, and that stage is pretty much the biggest platform a musician can get.

This year, both Adele and Taylor Swift generated a lot of buzz. Swift’s visibility increased significantly earlier this month when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell publicly expressed interest in having her perform, calling her a remarkably talented artist and welcoming her at any time. When asked about ongoing discussions with Swift, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, Goodell avoided a direct answer, simply saying a performance was “possible.”

Bad Bunny will headline a major performance, following in the footsteps of Kendrick Lamar, who performed at February’s Super Bowl. Lamar’s halftime show, known for his pointed remarks about Drake and a viral dance trend featuring his unique outfit, broke records with over 127.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen. He also won an Emmy for his musical direction of the show, which he shared with Tony Russell.

Super Bowl LX will take place Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., and will air on NBC.
