Firenut Games, the publisher, has unveiled their latest project titled “Backrooms Level X“. It’s a chilling first-person horror game centered around the thrill of navigating through a labyrinthine maze.
It appears to be multiple labyrinths, inspired by the online trend known as “The Backrooms.” This concept stemmed from an intriguing post on 4chan and represents a peculiar, transitional area.
The new game taps into that energy but has a unique hook of its own.
The description reads:
On October 27th, 1986, an enigmatic incident transpired in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which was recorded on a VHS tape. Following this peculiar accident, you find yourself ensnared within the Backrooms – a realm where common sense and reality begin to dissolve.
Venture through endless corridors lined with yellow carpets, vacant chambers, and intermittent illumination as you seek an exit. However, take caution – you’re not by yourself. Malevolent beings hide in the darkness, and every noise could be your final warning. Can you endure the terrors hidden within the Backrooms?
Backrooms Level X is scheduled for release this year, on consoles and PC.
