Previously engaged ‘Bachelorette‘ DeAnna Pappas, aged 43, is seeking a protective order from her former spouse, after her recent detainment.

As an ardent fan, I’m sharing my perspective: Previously on the spotlight, I voiced my account of the encounter with my ex, Stephen Stagliano, aged 41, in light of his assertions. I humbly requested the court to enforce a 100-yard distance between us. A date for our hearing has been set later this month.

According to Pappas, it was Stagliano who acted as the aggressor during an incident at his home on February 27, an event for which he was arrested on domestic violence charges. A video taken by their daughter could provide evidence supporting this claim, based on documents obtained by US Weekly.

The disturbance began when Lynn Stagliano alleged that she detected the scent of alcohol on Pappas’ breath during a school pick-up incident involving her grandson, Austen, on February 26th.

In her statement, Lynn asserted that upon my arrival, there was an unmistakable scent of alcohol emanating from DeAnna’s breath. She further alleged that she took the boy into her car and drove away. It should be noted that I don’t usually pick up Austin, but my husband does so more frequently.

On the particular night when Stagliano went to Pappas’ residence to fetch their child Addison, it was Pappas who escorted his daughter to Stagliano’s car. In doing so, Pappas informed Stagliano that he had been instructed to walk more closely to him so that Stagliano could check the scent of his breath, ensuring that he wasn’t under the influence of alcohol.

Afterward, she asserted, ‘I didn’t drink any alcohol. I chose to disregard Stephen’s remark and went back into the garage instead.’

The television personality then said her ex had followed her into the garage.

She stated that she attempted to close her garage door, but Stephen interfered by pushing the door upwards to prevent it from closing. When she asked him to vacate her garage, he declined.

According to Pappas, she first entered her home, securing the door behind her, but upon hearing strange sounds coming from the garage, she stepped outside once more. Upon investigation, she reportedly found Stagliano suspected of taking items from her, as stated in the court records.

According to her statement in the documents, Stephen grabbed my arms firmly and pushed me roughly.

In a moment of concern that he might injure me, I swiftly retreated into the house, securing the door behind me, until the arrival of the police – an action taken after Stagliano had dialed 911, as recorded in court records.

In her written plea, it is stated that Stephen claimed (or said) that I was the one who attacked him, but this assertion was actually untrue.

She stated that neither during the time nor after Stephen’s accusations was there a demand for me to undergo an alcohol test. To the contrary, the officer who apprehended me showed no sign of suspecting I was even slightly intoxicated, as she asserted in the documents reviewed by UsWeekly.

In a recent turn of events, I found myself facing charges for a domestic violence misdemeanor. However, I was granted bail set at $20,000. Subsequent to this, I chose to undergo a drug test out of my own volition. Fortunately, the results showed no traces of alcohol or narcotics in my system. This is the account I provided in the court documents.

The divorce settlement specified that neither party should consume alcohol beyond the legal limit while they have custody, or be under the influence during their time with any children in their care, as confirmed by documents acquired by In Touch.

According to Pappas, it appears that Stephen’s accusation that she was drunk was simply a strategy he used to gain an advantage and try to separate our children from her.

Additionally, she claimed that Stagliano regularly coached their daughter to search for alcohol within the household and instructed her on how to detect it by smell. Moreover, she asserted that he manipulated their daughter into thinking that she should distance herself from her (the mother) due to a false belief that the mother was an alcoholic.

‘I am not an alcoholic,’  she stated.

Despite the ongoing accusations between them, Pappas clarified that Stagliano’s past mental health struggles don’t imply that he doubts Stagliano’s capability as a good parent.

In my perspective as a lifestyle guide, rather than pointing fingers and placing blame, let’s collaborate together to find resolutions, as I penned down in the documents.

According to Pappas’ statement in the filing, he described their co-parenting as a situation where ‘I look after the kids whenever they are with me, while the Respondent does the same.’

In ordinary circumstances, we’ll keep each other informed about the kids, but in unusual or critical situations, we’ll make sure to communicate with one another about their status.

Additionally, she disclosed that the children expressed apprehension or unease towards the Respondent’s cohabiting partner. In instances like this, she would communicate this to her former spouse, allowing him to handle the situation with their kids as he deems appropriate.

Pappas added that Stagliano was flexible with adjusting the custody schedule to accommodate for my unusual work timetable.

Previously of “Get Married,” the host expressed that the coparenting arrangement with Stagliano is in need of improvement, yet maintains a belief that they have put forth considerable effort to benefit their shared children.

Initially, Pappas made an appearance during season 11 of The Bachelor in 2007, alongside lead Brad Womack who was 50 years old at that time. Unfortunately, she was heartbroken when both she and fellow contestant Jenni Croft were dismissed during the final episode.

Afterward, she appeared in the fourth season of The Bachelorette, which concluded with her becoming engaged to a professional snowboarder named Jesse Csincsak, who is 40 years old.

Their relationship lasted only a few months before the engagement was called off.

Later on, Pappas got acquainted with Stagliano due to his twin brother, Michael Stagliano, who was a contestant in season five of ‘The Bachelorette’, featuring Jillian Harris.

Pappas eventually crossed paths with Stagliano, thanks to his twin brother, Michael Stagliano, who took part in season five of ‘The Bachelorette’ and starred alongside Jillian Harris.

They married in 2012. 

2023 saw Pappas expressing heartfelt sadness on Instagram, announcing that Stephen and herself had chosen to part ways in their romantic relationship. After putting in significant effort for quite some time, not only as a married couple but also individually, they have decided it’s best for them to move forward separately.
