Bachelor Star’s Shocking Fall from Grace: Facing Serious Drug Charges!
A well-known Australian television personality is set to receive their sentence in the upcoming month, due to a string of allegations involving drugs and other offenses.
28-year-old Marjorie Griffiths was freed on bail at the Downing Centre in Sydney on Thursday following her admission of not providing necessary digital evidence to the police.
In the year 2023, Griffiths, who was featured on The Bachelor, denied any wrongdoing concerning an allegation about selling an illegal substance in large quantities for commercial purposes.
She is due to return to court on February 14.
In October 2023, the striking woman grabbed attention as she was detained on several charges: four instances of handling funds linked to criminal activity, two offenses related to distributing illegal substances, and one for disobeying a court order requiring her to provide digital evidence.
The police claim that the actress and model played a significant role in a criminal organization, which distributed substantial amounts of illegal drugs and funneled their ill-gotten gains through an international crime ring.
In the span of just a few months following her appearance on Season 10 of The Bachelor, authorities claim that Griffiths was caught selling approximately 1 kilogram of cocaine to an undercover police officer and another 1 kilogram of MDMA to an unidentified individual.
On October 10, 2023, at Umina Beach, located on the Central Coast of New South Wales, she was awakened by a group of heavily armed police specialists and taken into custody following an early morning raid on her residence.
According to documents viewed by Daily Mail Australia, it is alleged that she provided approximately 1 kg of cocaine on March 7th and another 1 kg of ice precisely three months afterward, on June 7th, both occasions taking place at Hornsby in Sydney’s outlying areas during that year.
On the Channel 10 show, there was a contentious competitor who frequently clashed with fellow contestants. According to authorities, this same individual is suspected of engaging in money laundering activities as well.
The court records claim that Ms Griffiths intentionally handled money tied to illegal activities totaling $136,100 in Randwick, $260,270 in Coogee, $302,000 in Double Bay, and $116,500 in Guildford from February to June 2023.
Back in December 2023, a woman who aspires to be an actor was photographed exiting the Silverwater Correctional Complex, which is situated west of Sydney. This happened after she was granted bail.
For the past two months, Ms. Griffiths has been held in custody pending trial, following a raid by specialized police officers at her residence located in Umina Beach.
Leaving the prison, she was photographed in a white shirt and gray track pants, also holding a compact shopping bag containing her personal items.
Her partner helped her with another bag of belongings.
This situation signifies a significant shift for the previous reality TV contestant, who was one of the four potential brides eliminated by bachelor Thomas Malucelli, a 35-year-old restaurant manager.
Ms Griffiths lasted 12 weeks on the show’s tenth season.
Under the terms of her rigorous and comprehensive house arrest rules, she’ll need to wear a monitoring ankle bracelet, avoid substance abuse including drugs and alcohol, and adhere to a strict nighttime schedule.
She is also not allowed to use any ‘internet capable’ devices and can only possess one phone.
It comes after a court heard last October that Griffiths was negotiating with police.
Lawyer Serae Kopra asked judge Miranda Moody for a postponement in the case of Ms Griffiths, as there were still discussions taking place with the police prosecutor regarding the matter.
She stated that, regrettably, things aren’t quite ready yet because we’re still awaiting crucial evidence from the prosecution, which could potentially influence our discussions during the case conference.
The prosecutor from the police department informed the court that they would be withholding their case evidence summary, specifically for any pieces of evidence that were found to be absent, approximately one year following the arrest and charging of Ms. Griffiths.
