Bachelor Madison Prewett reveals battle with porn and masturbation addiction as she ‘tried to live for Jesus’
24th runner-up of The Bachelor, Madison Prewett Troutt, shared insights on how she conquered her longstanding battles with pornography and self-pleasure habits, struggles that dated back to her middle school years.
At approximately 13 years of age, I visited a friend’s residence, where their parents were absent. In their absence, my friend decided to watch a program that was distinctly unsuitable for our age group, as I later remembered while sharing the experience on my Stay True Podcast last Monday.
‘Everyone was completely undressed, and it seemed similar to The Bachelor, but it was much more explicit and everyone was competing for the affections of a single woman. The focus was primarily on sexual interactions.’
Madi went on to say, ‘I experienced sensations and pondered thoughts that were entirely new to me. I found myself yearning for something I hadn’t even realized I desired. As a result, I left that period with my friend feeling incredibly curious and eager for more.’
Prewett’s longings led her to explore explicit online material, which claimed to offer ‘fulfillment and joy’, but moments later, she experienced intense embarrassment and lived with hidden shame.
The Alabama-born brunette shared, “I often doubted my value and self, especially after yielding to acts of a sexual nature. It left me uncertain about my role in life.
I couldn’t escape my situation on my own; it wasn’t until I involved others and stopped allowing the adversary to control my life through secrecy and solitude that I found freedom.
Madi went on to say: “I am grateful because, through the mercy of God and the support of my spiritual community and those around me, I have been liberated from the grip of pornography and masturbation for approximately a decade now. However, these were habits that had held me captive and left their mark on me for such a long time.
On January 20, Prewett and her two-year married partner, Pastor Grant Troutt, became parents to their newborn daughter, Hosanna Rose Troutt, who was five months old at the time.
It’s astonishing that it’s already been five years since Delta Air Lines pilot Peter Weber broke off his engagement with Hannah Ann Sluss, his chosen winner, for a former foster parent recruiter. They parted ways only three days following the finale of the ABC dating competition.
Among the contestants from The Bachelorette, there are currently four couples who have stayed together, which is a great success. However, when it comes to Bachelor in Paradise, an impressive ten couples who initially won are still going strong.

On July 18, it’s Madi’s turn to address the crowd at the Lifepoint Church Youth Conference taking place in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
On September 23rd, WaterBrook is set to release Prewett’s inspiring, 240-page religious book titled “Dare to Be True: Overcoming Deceitful Thoughts and Embracing the Truth that Liberates You.
Madi, who has amassed a following of 4.1 million on social media platforms, is equally influential through her collaborations with various brands such as Cupshe, Amazon, Gameday Couture, Sun Home Saunas, and Natural Cycles.
