Bachelor In Paradise stars Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon welcome 2nd child – and reveal Star Wars-inspired 1st name as well as nod to Tom Cruise
As someone who has followed Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon‘s love story since they met on Bachelor in Paradise, I can’t help but be in awe of their journey as a couple and impending family of four. Their announcement of expecting another baby boy after welcoming Dawson into the world just last year is a true testament to their strong bond and desire to expand their loving family.
As someone who has followed Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon’s love story since their time on Bachelor in Paradise, it is truly heartwarming to see them expand their beautiful family with the arrival of their second child, Hayden Cruise Haibon. ‘Say hello to Hayden Cruise Haibon,’ the stars told the site.
Hayden Christensen of Star Wars inspires the first name, while the second name pays homage to Tom Cruise, as the parents are avid fans.
The couple shared that their baby was born on July 22, 2024, at Inova Fairfax Hospital at 2:29 p.m., and weighed in at a birth weight of 8 lbs. 7 oz.
The baby is in good health, along with his mother. Witnessing Dawson encounter his little brother for the first time brought us the same joy we had anticipated. With a heart full of affection, Dawson couldn’t help but stroke Hayden repeatedly.
In 2019, my beloved idols, Ashley and her husband, exchanged vows and became one. Then, in the beautiful month of January 2022, they welcomed their first child, a precious little boy named Dawson, into their loving family.
Dawson is named after Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Jack Dawson in Titanic.
The first name of their second child was heavily discussed.
“I suggested we call him Anakin since I’m an avid Star Wars fan,” he explained, “and Ashley was fond of Hayden Christensen during her teen years.”
‘That sparked the idea for the name Hayden,’ it was added. Hayden played Anakin in the prequels.
We hesitated to choose it at first due to its alliteration with our last name. But after some thought, we felt it was the right match for us.
Then it was added that finding a boy name they both loved was much harder the second time around.
From the very beginning, we both shared the same middle name – Cruise. This connection came about during our initial encounter on Bachelor in Paradise season 2, as we discovered our mutual admiration for Tom Cruise.
For years, we’ve been captivated by the intensity, commitment, and charm of the characters he creates. Last year, we had the pleasure of meeting him in person at the Mission Impossible premiere. His genuine warmth and attentiveness towards our stories left a lasting impression on us, solidifying our decision to use his name.

During an Amazon Live session in February, they announced the sex of their upcoming second child.
As an obsessed fan, I watched with bated breath as the Bachelor veteran and his loving husband shared a delightful moment during the clip. They excitedly took a bite of two scrumptious cupcakes, and to my utter joy, they gleefully announced that another little boy would soon be joining their beautiful family!
Before the gender reveal, Iaconetti jokingly remarked that she believed she was about to have another son, despite her earlier assumption that she was pregnant with a boy.
I could hardly contain my excitement as Haibon shared his plans for starting a family of four. The thought that we’d be welcoming not one, but two little boys into our world was absolutely thrilling!
At The Bachelor Winter Games, one participant shared that she had hoped for a daughter when pregnant for the first time.
I can’t help but chuckle at the irony of my situation when it comes to gender disappointment. With Dawson, I endured anguish that lasted beyond a few days. Upon learning the news, I grieved deeply and mourned what could have been.
In my perspective, I don’t really mind what specific combination they are right now. All that truly matters to me is that they are near each other.
During an Amazon Live session last January, my partner and I shared exciting news with our audience – we’re expecting our second child!
Their son Dawson wore an adorable ‘Big Brother’ T-shirt as his parents shared the joyous news.
‘He’s going to be a big brother!’ Ashley gushed.
‘You’re going to be a big brother!’ Jared exclaiming before sharing, ‘Ashley’s pregnant!’
‘I’m pregnant!’ Ashley chimed in, later adding she was 13 weeks into her pregnancy.
Ashley expressed some worry during the live stream, mentioning, “We have reason to believe he might struggle with jealousy,” adding, “Lately, he’s become quite possessive.”
Speaking with People, Ashley said she has been ‘overwhelmed as hell’ amid her second pregnancy.
I, as a lifestyle expert, understand the desire my clients express when they share, “We long for Dawson to have a sibling. It’s significant to us. Both my spouse and I hail from families blessed with two children each. Therefore, we aim to provide that experience for Dawson as well.”
At the initial doctor visit for their first child, the parents displayed the ultrasound image of their newborn son.
Ashley explained, “I often ask him, ‘Where’s the baby?’ and he points to his own belly, not realizing it’s mine. He’s been particularly clingy to me since the baby grew in my belly.”
‘So he is already getting jealous,’ Jared added.
Ashley’s pregnancy was smoother than when she was expecting Dawson.
She explained that during her previous pregnancy, she experienced hyperemesis gravidarum, which meant she vomited several times a day up to the 30th week. The first trimester, specifically weeks 16 to 18, were extremely challenging and difficult for her.
She expressed her relief and gratitude for not going through pregnancy again, sharing, “I haven’t been in the best place lately. I didn’t enjoy being pregnant and have no desire to experience that feeling again.”
Ashley shared that she experienced a miscarriage caused by chemicals during the fall, before getting pregnant with their new arrival.
She described to Us Weekly that it was during week five when she anticipated getting her period but instead experienced bleeding. However, prior to this, she had already taken a pregnancy test that came back positive. Consequently, for three days, she believed she was pregnant.
Ashley conceived once more within just a month: “We were incredibly fortunate for her to get pregnant again so quickly,” her spouse shared with The Messenger.
Ashley met her future fiancé, her husband, for the first time during the second installment of Bachelor in Paradise in the summer of 2018, and they subsequently got engaged.
Next year, Ashley and Jared exchanged vows at a beautiful wedding in Newport, Rhode Island. They shared the exciting news of their first pregnancy with everyone during the summer of 2021.
