Bachelor In Paradise Switches Up The Game By Introducing Big Money

For the first time ever on “Bachelor in Paradise”, a cash prize has been introduced as part of its history. In the episode that aired on August 4, 2025, the host announced that no new cast members would be joining the resort. This meant that all contestants were paired and would undergo relationship tests to potentially win half a million dollars. My curiosity is piqued: Why are rose ceremonies still happening in this scenario?

In the compatibility contest, every pair participated. The twist was that one rose would be removed during the traditional rose ceremony. Eventually, Bailey Brown and Jeremy Simon emerged victorious. Since the women held the power this time (an oddity given they were competing as pairs), it fell on Bailey to determine which of the bottom three couples would be dismissed.

It’s theoretically possible that she could have passed her rose to someone else and changed the teams, but I strongly doubt it. This is because when Bailey Brown informed Leslie Fhima that she wouldn’t be getting a rose, both Leslie and Gary Levingston were promptly asked to leave before Parisa Shifteh received the final rose to save Brian Autz. Given that their relationship appeared to be in its last moments, one might wonder if Parisa wanted to save Gary instead. However, the immediate departure of Leslie and Gary suggests that it was unlikely for Parisa to have done so.

To put it simply, the unexpected turn of events significantly impacted the enthusiasm surrounding “Bachelor in Paradise”. Several disgruntled viewers expressed concern that the introduction of a monetary reward seemed to be motivated by factors other than genuine romance.
