Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning lands exciting new role

As a lifelong fan of Agatha Christie’s intricate mysteries and a connoisseur of captivating narratives, I can hardly contain my excitement over the latest adaptation of “The Mysterious Affair at Styles.” The stacked cast, led by Peter Dinklage as Hercule Poirot, is nothing short of extraordinary. Adding Jessica Gunning to the mix as Evelyn Howard only heightens the anticipation.

The baby reindeer, Jessica Gunning, is now part of the impressive ensemble cast in the audio adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “The Mysterious Affair at Styles,” produced by Audible.

Gunning will take on the role of villain Evelyn Howard, with Peter Dinklage portraying detective Hercule Poirot and Himesh Patel playing Poirot’s friend, Captain Hastings. This casting is reported by Variety.

Based on Agatha Christie’s first novel, titled “The Mysterious Affair at Styles“, published in 1920, the story unfolds around an injured Captain Hastings who finds himself entangled in the suspicious death of Emily Inglethorp (Harriet Walter), the affluent family matriarch.

Hastings is asked to visit the vast countryside home of the Inglethorps family following his military service in World War I, intended as a chance for him to rest. However, matters soon take a turn for the worse when the estate’s matron, Emily, is discovered deceased.

In the discovery that she might have been killed, everyone, regardless of their status, seems to hold a potential role as suspect. Each person appears to have their reasons for doing so.

Eager to unravel the secret and shield his family from intrusive media scrutiny, Hastings calls upon Poirot, resolute on discovering the truth behind the events.

The cast is completed with Rob Delaney from Deadpool & Wolverine playing Alfred Inglethorp, John Bradley of Game of Thrones as Lawrence Cavendish, Phil Dunster as John Cavendish, Patsy Ferran as Mary Cavendish, and Vivian Oparah taking on the role of Cynthia Murdoch.

Making its debut on Audible in November, “The Mysterious Affair at Styles” is the work of Anna Lea, skillfully directed by Alice Lowe who previously worked on “Prevenge”. The music for this production comes from Johnny Flynn, a versatile actor and musician known for his role in “Ripley”.

Additionally, you’ll find Gunning appearing alongside Claire Foy, Andrew Garfield, and Nicola Coughlan in the highly anticipated family film titled The Magic Faraway Tree.

The movie is based on Enid Blyton’s book series with the same title, directed by Ben Gregor from a script penned by Simon Farnaby, who is famous for “Ghosts” and for collaborating with Paul King on “Paddington 2” and “Wonka”.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles will be released globally on Audible on November 14.
