Baby joy! Laura Byrne and Matty ‘J’ Johnson welcome their third child together

Laura Byrne and Matty ‘J’ Johnson have welcomed their third child together, a daughter.

The couple, who previously shared they named their baby Poppy, announced the news with a heartwarming post on Instagram. The former Bachelor star is 39 years old, and her husband is 38.

Poppy was born late Saturday. 

I’m so thrilled to share some wonderful news! After waiting patiently, we’ve welcomed our precious little Poppy into the world, and honestly, it feels like the third time around truly *is* magical. We’re completely smitten with every tiny detail – she’s just perfect!

Laura and Matty are expecting another daughter! She announced in April that their third child will be a girl.

I was so thrilled to hear the news! She revealed she was having a baby live on air during her KIIS FM show, and it was amazing! She’d *just* announced she was pregnant, and then cut into a cake to share whether it was a boy or a girl – it was such a special moment.

Laura excitedly announced, ‘It’s a girl!’ as she carefully lifted a piece of white cake decorated with pink frosting.

“Wow, another little girl!” exclaimed Brittany Hockley, clearly surprised, before offering her congratulations.

Matty jokingly asked if he was able to have sons, then enthusiastically suggested trying for a fourth child.

Laura shared her excitement about having three daughters, saying it’s going to be wonderful having three little sisters growing up together. Matty chimed in, happily calling himself a ‘girl dad’.

Laura shared the news that she’s expecting a baby on her podcast, Life Uncut, which she hosts alongside Brittany Hockley, another reality TV personality.

‘It turns out, we’re having baby number three!’ she declared.

‘I’m pregnant, guys!’

It’s amazing! The timing was incredibly tight. I suspected something early in the pregnancy – not because I felt sick or anything, but a friend casually mentioned something that prompted me to take a test, and it turned out I was right.

Laura remembered taking a pregnancy test while Matty was away filming ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ in South Africa. She waited until she was about two and a half months pregnant before sharing the news with him.

‘I wasn’t able to tell Matt for ages. The whole time he was in the jungle, I wasn’t able to tell him and then it was really tricky because I didn’t want to tell him when it was the finale,’ she explained.

I waited to tell him after the show because, as some of you may recall, it wasn’t filmed live this year. We actually filmed the finale at a different location.

I was so thrilled to hear Matt share the amazing news on their Two Doting Dads podcast! He revealed they’re expecting a baby in October, and it’s so sweet to know they started trying even before he went off to film in the jungle. It’s just wonderful news for them!

We decided that if we were going to have a third child, 2025 would be the year we tried.

The couple share daughters Marlie-Mae, whom they welcomed in 2019, and Lola, who was born in 2021.

I remember watching Laura on The Bachelor Australia back in 2017! It’s so lovely to see she actually found lasting love with Matty, and they’ve built a beautiful life together with their two kids. It just goes to show, sometimes it really *does* work out!
