AFL star Jayden Short is expecting his first child with his wife, Maddy Bekiaris.

Richmond player, age 29, announced on social media Saturday that he and his partner are expecting a baby. He shared adorable black-and-white photos from a photobooth, including a picture of their ultrasound.

A sweet photo captured the couple beaming, with Jayden proudly displaying their ultrasound image. Another showed a tender moment of him kissing his wife’s baby bump.

The couple, married since January after being engaged for a year, looked incredibly happy and glowing in the touching photos.

They captioned the pictures with some exciting words: ‘Baby Short’, adding a love heart emoji.

‘Mum and Dad,’ wrote Collingwood star Oleg Markov. 

‘How goooood!!! Congrats!!!’ gushed Channel Nine star Lana Murphy.

Meanwhile, veteran sports presenter Abbey Gelmi posted a crying and love heart emoji. 

In September 2023, Jayden shared the news that he was engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Maddy. They got married a year later.

The Richmond football player shared the exciting news of their engagement on Instagram, having proposed during a trip to Cinque Terre, Italy.

The couple looked overjoyed, smiling brightly on the beach as they showed off the stunning six-diamond ring that encircled her finger.

The lovebirds captioned the image, ‘CIAO FIANCEE!!’ and were soon inundated with well-wishers.

Tayla Broad congratulated everyone again, adding a string of heart emojis, and then playfully commented, ‘I could stare at that ring all day!’

‘Congrats guys, unreal!’ added fellow Richmond star Judson Clarke.

Sports reporter Abbey Gelmi opted to keep things short and sweet, adding several heart emojis.

Jayden and Maddy have known each other for more than a decade and were mates back in 2012.

That was the year he made the AFL rookie draft and a year later he made his senior debut.

The experienced athlete has been playing for the Richmond Tigers since 2015, appearing in nearly 200 games for the team.
