Ayo Edebiri’s new horror movie gets unsettling first trailer

Ayo Edebiri’s new horror movie Opus has unveiled a chilling first trailer.

Initiated back in 2023, this intriguing project casts the renowned actor from “The Bear” in the role of a budding writer named Ariel. In the storyline, she receives an invitation to visit the secluded estate of a pop star, Moretti, who has been missing for several decades, following his mysterious disappearance.

A troubling initial glance hints at terrifying events to come, as she steps into the eerie desert compound filled with a cult-like grouping.

Ariel and her companions learn that Moretti will return with an exceptional album, hailed as one of the best in contemporary times. As the conversation continues, the enigmatic pop star Moretti makes his appearance, followed by a sequence of unsettling visuals.

As she deduces that things aren’t right, Ariel declares: “Is this not alarming to you?”

A budding author receives an invitation to the secluded estate of a renowned pop star who vanished 30 years prior. Amidst the star’s circle of devoted followers and tipsy media personnel, she unwittingly becomes entangled in his intricate scheme.

As a gamer, I find myself teaming up with Murray Bartlett from “The White Lotus,” Amber Midthunder known for “Prey,” Stephanie Suganami hailing from “Power Book II: Ghost,” Young Mazino of “Beef,” Tatanka Means from “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and Juliette Lewis who stars in “Yellowjackets.” It’s an exciting lineup, isn’t it?

Next week, the upcoming movie will make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival. It was penned and directed by Mark Anthony Green.

Among the many ventures on the horizon for Edebiri are projects such as “After the Hunt” alongside Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield, as well as “Ella McCay,” which stars Emma Mackey and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The film titled “Opus” will make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, and it’s scheduled for a U.S. cinema release on March 14th. As of now, a release date in the United Kingdom has not been set.
