Awhina Rutene Explodes: Adrian’s Photo Snub & Sierah’s Supposed Affair

On “Married at First Sight”, Awhina Rutene has shared her thoughts following her disagreement with spouse Adrian Araouzou, who chose to depart unexpectedly from the experiment due to a perceived slight during a photo shoot opportunity.

During an interview with Daily Mail Australia, Awhina shared her heartbreak following Adrian’s decision to end their relationship over a seemingly minor matter – his displeasure about not being involved in a promotional photo session together.

She openly confessed that she hasn’t seen this week’s episodes, but since the news is everywhere on social media, it’s not necessary to watch them to understand what’s going on.

Awhina recounted the difficult moment when Adrian walked out, leaving her alone and confused.

She admitted, “I faced difficulties, but what might not be apparent is that I communicated with the production team right away when I discovered Adrian had been left out.

They mentioned that certain brides and grooms were excluded from the promotion, allowing the viewers to continue speculating about who ended up as partners.

She added: “I suggested to the team that, given the choice, Adrian should take on the task rather than me.

Instead of caring about being part of the promotion, it was painful for her to return to a vacant apartment and discover that he had taken something she didn’t care much about in the first place. That’s what she expressed.

Even though Awhina knew that Adrian might get upset about being excluded, she still felt his response was excessively strong or dramatic.

She acknowledged that he might feel upset and excluded, but simultaneously understood Adrian desired involvement in every photoshoot and publicity event. In contrast, her own feelings were indifferent towards it. This was her statement.

In my role as a lifestyle guide, I must confess that I felt a surge of feelings when I eventually discovered that Adrian had been spending time with Sierah Swepstone – a fellow bride – while I grappled with his unexpected absence on my own.

‘I was completely unaware that the night before, he had spent time with Sierah,’ she revealed.

Spending an entire day with her, offering comfort all the while, only to later discover she’d been with Adrian, left me feeling as though I’d been deceived or backstabbed.

Although Sierah told Awhina they only ate a shared platter of meat during their meal, this disclosure left Awhina feeling dazed.

In the solitude of my apartment, I was shedding tears, struggling to comprehend everything that had happened, when an unexpected text arrived in the dead of night. It simply read, ‘Oh, by the way, Sierah was with me last night.’ With that brief message, all hope seemed to fade away.

She expressed, “They didn’t share anything with me, which makes it seem as though they might have been concealing something. If there’s nothing to hide, then be transparent and truthful. However, their silence felt deceptive, and that’s not acceptable.

Upon Adrian’s return, Awhina anticipated accountability; however, she found herself facing a request for an apology from him instead.

She remembered that he had walked in, thinking she would apologize. Yet, to her, it seemed absurd. He ended their relationship due to a photo shoot, spent the night with another woman without informing her, and still demanded an apology from her?

Looking back on our shared path with Adrian, I must confess there were times when I felt the urge to step aside and call it quits.

I had been constantly expressing regrets for his unacceptable actions, but not this time. There were numerous obstacles hindering our relationship, and I had given it my all. However, this instance was my limit. I realized I could no longer endure the situation.

Instead of speaking about her recent encounters with Adrian, she instead expressed her enthusiasm for renewing connections with several MAFS brides based in Melbourne.

I was genuinely delighted to reunite with Jamie (Marinos) and Beth (Kelly). After our gathering ended on a somber note, it felt wonderful to connect once more, wrapping up the encounter on a far more optimistic tone.

As for whether she has had a ‘glow up’ since the show, Awhina laughed off the suggestion.

During the filming process, I ended up putting on quite a bit of weight. It feels great now, though, because I seem to be returning to my true physical appearance.

Since it appears that Adrian is not a part of Awhina’s life anymore permanently, she is concentrating on advancing – and supporters are backing her courage and adaptability.
