Award-winning Scottish sitcom confirms BBC return with “minor chaos” and returning regular cast
Award-winning Scottish BBC sitcom Two Doors Down has confirmed it will return later this year.
After a two-year hiatus from airing new episodes, the series is set to return with a 30-minute holiday special this Christmas season.
In this upcoming episode, neighbors from Latimer Crescent will gather at Beth’s (Arabella Weir) and Eric’s (Alex Norton) home to mark the joyous holiday period.

In addition to the two main characters, the special will also include Christine (Elaine C Smith), Cathy (Doon Mackichan), Colin (Jonathan Watson), Alan (Graeme Stevely), Michelle (Joy McAvoy), Ian (Jamie Quinn) and his partner Gordon (Kieran Hodgson).
Previously, Gregor Sharp had collaborated with Simon Carlyle on all the episodes. Now, however, Gregor is taking on the task alone as he assumes the writing responsibilities for future installments.
I can’t help but feel thrilled to be back at Latimer Crescent alongside our familiar faces for this fresh installment!
Christmas offers an opportunity to reunite with cherished friends and loved ones, but sometimes it can lead to a gentle simmer of irritation as their presence becomes more familiar – making them exactly the people you want to share the holiday spirit with.
As a holiday enthusiast, I find a certain warmth in inviting neighbors over for Christmas, even when they stir up a touch of festive disorder. That’s what Jon Petrie, BBC’s Director of Comedy, seems to echo too.
Gregor and his group deliver the cozy chuckles, subtle jabs, and cleverly petty instances that make ‘Two Doors Down’ an outstanding comedy. You can expect it to shine brightly on BBC iPlayer and BBC One more swiftly than Cathy can open a bottle of prosecco.
You can now stream all past episodes of “Two Doors Down” on BBC iPlayer. The holiday special is scheduled to air on both BBC One and BBC Scotland during the upcoming festive period.
The latest print issue from Digital Spy, titled “Oasis – Live in ’25,” is now available! You can purchase it at your local newsstands or online for only £8.99.
