Avowed Will Have Loads of Possible Endings, Numbering in the 'Double Digits'

As a seasoned RPG enthusiast with countless hours sunk into games like Baldur’s Gate and Pillars of Eternity, I can hardly contain my excitement for Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming gem, Avowed. The prospect of multiple endings, potentially numbering in the double digits, is a dream come true for a player like me who thrives on making tough decisions that shape the narrative landscape.

In an announcement, it’s been disclosed that Avowed, the upcoming first-person fantasy RPG by Obsidian, boasts multiple endings, with a significant count falling within the double digits.

In an interview with IGN, Game Director Carrie Patel revealed that the choices and actions players make in Avowed could potentially result in several different outcomes. Although she couldn’t provide an exact number, she hinted at a minimum of twelve distinct endings to explore.

Patel affirmed, “The number of our concluding slides is in double digits. You’ll find various combinations of these slides at your disposal.” He explained further, “This is an Obsidian game, meaning the ending you receive is essentially a reflection of the choices you make throughout the game, across multiple segments of content, contingent on what you experienced and how you acted upon it when you came across it.”

Patel mentions that there are numerous decisions to be made in Avowed, encompassing matters of loyalty and alliances, which will shape the course of your final outcome. “We can’t wait for players to delve into these choices and craft their unique narrative,” she stated. Moreover, an extensive roster of supporting characters is anticipated to factor into this intricate web, including Kai, portrayed by Brandon Keener, who was the voice of Garrus in Mass Effect.

The game “Avowed” has been officially set to debut on the Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 15, 2025, with the aim of providing players some time to catch up due to a postponement.
