Everyone is eagerly awaiting Avengers: Doomsday, one of the biggest movie releases of the year. Featuring a star-studded cast, including some familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are counting down the days until its December release.
Sir Ian McKellen is returning to the world of superheroes! He’ll be playing Magneto again, a role he famously portrayed in the X-Men movies, but hasn’t played since 2014.
While most of the story details for Avengers: Doomsday are still under wraps, Ian McKellen accidentally revealed some information during an interview with Jake’s Takes. He immediately acknowledged that he shouldn’t have shared those details.

He recalls looking back and seeing a camera, with his hands in the air, while two police cars were lifted in front of him by cranes. This happened during the filming of the 2000 movie X-Men, which was his first time playing the villain.
I lowered my hands on cue, and the cars fell. It wasn’t done with special effects,” he explained, with a playful tone. “I think things are getting simpler now. I actually destroyed New Jersey recently—though maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that.

Although it appears Magneto has destroyed New Jersey, details about the story are still limited. However, the Russo Brothers, who directed the film, have said that the four preview trailers will offer clues to hidden storylines.
Last month, on Instagram, they explained that the videos released over the past four weeks weren’t simple previews. They were actually parts of a larger narrative, offering hints about what’s to come. They urged viewers to watch closely, adding, “#DoomsdayHasBegun.”
Ian McKellen has discussed potentially returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans are also curious if Tessa Thompson will be back as Valkyrie from the Thor movies. Thompson hasn’t said much about whether she’ll reprise the role, remaining purposefully vague on the subject.

She playfully dodged the question, saying, “I can’t say anything for sure.” She then added that the best part of being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting to work with so many talented people.
Marvel movies bring together incredibly skilled artists, talented directors, and amazing actors. What’s great about them is the range of emotions and styles they can explore – you can find everything from serious drama to lighthearted comedy all within the same film.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 18 December.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page tribute to Taylor Swift, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
