Liu suggested he might have filmed scenes with some famous actors who previously played the X-Men, mentioning Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart as people he admired growing up. He didn’t share any specifics about the scenes themselves, keeping those details secret.

Liu jokingly suggested that working with the actors from X-Men was incredibly enjoyable, saying it was possibly even better than he expected – something he’d say if he were in the movie. He also playfully responded to a question about returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, exclaiming “It’s about goddamn time!” before quickly adding that he was just kidding.

Filming for Avengers: Doomsday wrapped up last month. The movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the team also directing the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars. Several actors from the X-Men films will be back for this movie, including Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Alan Cumming. Plus, Channing Tatum will reprise his role as Gambit, having first played the character in Deadpool & Wolverine.
