The Marvel Cinematic Universe consistently surprises its fans with new content in both theaters and on Disney+. Currently, everyone is especially excited for the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday, and Marvel has been slowly revealing bits and pieces of it, including glimpses of the cast. The latest teaser brought us back to Wakanda, and surprisingly showed Black Panther characters alongside Thing from the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie.
Details about Avengers: Doomsday are scarce, so fans have been eagerly watching every bit of released footage. It began with a preview featuring Chris Evans as Captain America, but the newest trailer showcased Shuri, M’Baku, and Namor. Surprisingly, it also included a scene with Ben Grimm/The Thing, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. You can watch it below.
Isn’t that awesome? We’ve seen a few short previews, like the one with Thor and his daughter Love, but this is the first one that actually confirms one of the big team-ups we can expect in the movie. Just the idea of seeing this in Wakanda is exciting enough to make me want to go!
This clip features Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, giving us an update on Wakanda after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She talks about the loss of Queen Ramonda and T’Challa, and confirms that M’Baku is now the king. We then see Winston Duke’s character meet Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing. It makes you wonder if The Thing and The King would be a good title for a show about these two!

Some Marvel fans might be surprised to see Ben Grimm in Wakanda, especially those who’ve followed the movies closely. The post-credits scene in Thunderbolts suggested the Fantastic Four would be teaming up with the New Avengers, but it seems there’s another interesting team-up happening as well.

Disney+ offers access to Marvel Cinematic Universe content, including movies like Black Panther and Fantastic Four. You can start streaming with ads for as little as $11.99 per month. For an ad-free experience, it’s $18.99 monthly, or you can save 16% by paying $189.99 for a full year. See the deal here.
The short video also featured the return of Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta. Although he was the main villain in Wakanda Forever, the movie ended with an unsteady agreement between him and Wakanda. This could be a major advantage for our heroes, who appear to be facing a new threat: Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., and will need all the help they can get.
Wakanda has played a role in the Avengers films before – the climactic battle in Infinity War was famously filmed there. Now, with the addition of Namor and his army, it will be interesting to see how they impact the unfolding mystery of the new movie.
You’ll find out everything about Avengers: Doomsday when it comes out in theaters on December 18th, 2026. We’re hoping a full trailer arrives soon with more information about the movie’s secrets.
