Avengers: Doomsday’s first trailer has finally landed online

The first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is now available online, giving Marvel fans an early holiday treat! The movie isn’t out until December 18, 2026, but you can see the teaser in theaters before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Details about the next Avengers film are still scarce, and this short preview doesn’t offer much new information. However, it does confirm Chris Evans will return as Steve Rogers, and we see that he now has a child.

In an Instagram post accompanying the teaser, the Russo Brothers wrote about the character and story that initially brought their audience together, hinting that the narrative was inevitably returning to its origins.

Over the next three weeks, audiences attending screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash will also get a sneak peek at the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. Three different teasers will be shown, including one hinting at Thor’s return and the first official glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

We briefly saw Doctor Doom at the end of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but Marvel has mostly kept him hidden from the public until now.

Originally planned for release in May 2025 under the title Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the film—now called Avengers: Doomsday—has been delayed twice. It was first pushed to May 2026, and then again to December 18, 2026. While Marvel hasn’t given an official explanation, reports suggest the delays are to allow more time for the film to be finished.

Earlier this year, Marvel captivated fans with a live stream that simply showed chairs for over five and a half hours. The unusual broadcast finally revealed the cast list for the upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, confirming the return of familiar faces like Chris Hemsworth, Sebastian Stan, and stars from the X-Men franchise.

For a long time, fans have guessed that more familiar faces would join the movie, and rumors pointed to stars like Hayley Atwell and Chris Evans – who is now confirmed to return. However, beyond Evans, no other cast members have been officially announced or shown in the teaser.

The lineup for the next Avengers movie was recently announced and includes Captain America, Thor, Shang-Chi, Falcon, and Ant-Man. A surprising member joining the team is Loki.

Avengers: Doomsday is released in cinemas on 18 December 2026.
