Avengers Doomsday Trailer Release Gets Disappointing Update from Insider

The first trailer for the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday might be delayed. While the film is set to come out on December 18, 2026, marketing usually starts a year before release. This means we could have seen the first preview – likely shown with Avatar: Fire and Ash – very soon, but that may not be the case anymore.

I’m so hyped for the Avengers: Doomsday trailer! Everyone’s been buzzing about a possible release this Thursday, December 11th, especially after the trailer got rated in Korea and Marvel put a private video up on YouTube. But, unfortunately, a reliable source, Grace Randolph, just said the trailer Disney was planning to drop tomorrow is now delayed. It’s a bummer, but hopefully, it means they’re just making sure it’s absolutely perfect when it finally arrives!

I just saw the Disney trailer, and it looks like the movie [Avengers: Doomsday] isn’t being released tomorrow after all.

There was speculation that the trailer for The Avengers: Doomsday would arrive on Thursday, based on the expectation that DC Studios would release the Supergirl trailer on Wednesday, December 10th. Now that DC Studios has announced Supergirl’s trailer will premiere on Thursday instead, it appears Disney has delayed the new Avengers trailer to avoid competing with it.

Randolph explained that the new Disney trailer isn’t confirmed to be for Avengers: Doomsday. Disney has several other movies coming out soon that it could be previewing.

It’s possible the recent Disney trailer wasn’t for a Marvel project, but for Star Wars – specifically, a new trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu movie. Since the film is planned to come out in May 2026, Disney might be planning to release both its big Marvel and Star Wars movies alongside the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash to draw larger crowds to theaters.

Disney could also share a full trailer for Toy Story 5, Pixar’s highly anticipated sequel coming in 2026. While a short teaser for the film was released on November 11th, the complete trailer hasn’t been shown yet. Another possibility is a trailer for Hexed, the next original animated movie from Disney following Zootopia 2.

We don’t know yet when the Disney trailer will be shown, so fans are still waiting to find out.

When Is Avengers: Doomsday’s First Trailer Most Likely To Be Released?

So, if Avengers: Doomsday’s trailer is not being released on Thursday, when is it coming out?

As a huge movie fan, I’m hearing the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will probably drop with showings of Avatar: The Way of Water on December 19th. The big question now is whether Disney will put it online before Avatar 3 comes out, or if they’ll hold off, hoping to get more people to see Avatar 3 in theaters just to catch a glimpse of the new Avengers footage.

There’s talk that the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday could be the shortest in the entire Avengers series, and possibly set a new record. This suggests it will be a quick teaser, offering just a glimpse without revealing too much about the movie’s plot.

Marketing for Avengers: Doomsday started surprisingly early, well before its December 2026 release date. Because of this, it’s uncertain how much actual footage will be shown in the first teaser trailer. The initial focus might just be on revealing Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, a character fans are very excited to see in the new Avengers movie.
