Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Hint May Have Been Hiding in Plain Sight All Year

If recent reports are accurate, Marvel has been hinting at the release date for the first trailer for the next Avengers movie all year. Fans anticipating the very first look at the sequel might be surprised, as the trailer could arrive as early as next week.

According to Alex Perez, a well-known insider at The Cosmic Circus, the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday could arrive as soon as Sunday, December 7th. Perez noted a connection to the marketing for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which featured the Richards family having a weekly Sunday dinner at 7:00 PM, and then asked if that date might also be when the Avengers: Doomsday teaser is released. He hinted at this in a recent post on X.

I’ve been hearing buzz for a while now that we’d finally get a look at the new movie in mid-December. But it sounds like the trailer might arrive a bit sooner – maybe even a longer preview playing before showings of Avatar! I’m really excited about this, and hoping it’s true.

What’s really interesting about the possible trailer release is that Marvel Studios might have been hinting at the date for months. The official Fantastic Four account has been consistently posting a short clip of the Richards family’s Sunday dinner, always at 7:00 pm every Sunday. While it started as a way to generate excitement for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, they’ve continued posting it even after that initial push.

Now that The Fantastic Four is available to stream on Disney+ and no longer in theaters, it’s strange Marvel is still sharing the movie’s trailer – especially since that particular scene didn’t make it into the final version. Given Marvel’s history of creating successful viral marketing campaigns, they might be hinting at a much larger announcement coming this Sunday.

Will The First Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Release Next Week?

Alex Perez suggests the first trailer for the new Doctor Doom movie might be released online Sunday at 7:00 p.m., potentially interrupting many family dinners. Perez has been posting the same teaser clip at that time for months, leading fans to believe this is when the full trailer will finally appear, possibly showing off Doctor Doom’s plans for the Fantastic Four.

There are a few problems with the rumored release date. Several sources still believe the trailer will premiere with Avatar: Fire and Ash, which isn’t in cinemas until December 19th. It would be more logical for Marvel to launch the trailer with a bigger film, instead of on an arbitrary Sunday in December. Also, releasing it at 7:00 p.m. EST is late – international fans would likely have to wait until the next day to see it.

Perez’s recent post doesn’t explain why December 7th is the date suggested by the family dinner hints in The Fantastic Four. Even though he seems to have detailed information, he doesn’t clarify why that date was chosen instead of December 14th or 21st, the weekend Avatar: Fire and Ash comes out.

Even though the specific date isn’t confirmed, Marvel fans can expect to see the first trailer for Doomsday before the end of this month. With the movie scheduled to release in theaters on December 18, 2026 – just over a year from now – Marvel is likely starting its marketing campaign soon.

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m getting seriously excited! It feels like forever, but the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is almost here – whether it drops this week or on December 19th. We’re finally starting to see the end of the Multiverse Saga, and with the two-part finale so close to release, it’s like we can almost taste it!

Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026.
