Okay, so the latest teaser for Avengers: Doomsday totally blew my mind! It looks like two of the villains we met during Phase 4 are coming back – and it’ll be the first time we’ve seen them in live-action since they were first introduced. Marvel’s been bringing in a ton of new bad guys over the last few phases, and while some of them are probably gone for good, it seems like a couple of them are going to be really important moving forward. Honestly, I even think some of them might end up helping the Avengers! It’s all so exciting.
Marvel Studios continues to share previews of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, and the latest trailer just dropped. It showed some cool scenes, like Ben Grimm and M’Baku meeting, and also revealed that two key villains from a 2022 film will be appearing in the new Avengers movie.
I’m really excited to see these characters included in the new teaser! While we don’t know exactly how big their parts will be in Doomsday, the fact that they’re featured at all is a huge sign. Think about it – the other teasers have focused on major players like Steve Rogers, Thor, and the X-Men, and everyone expects them to have important roles, so this feels really promising!
Fans can likely expect these characters to have significant parts in Avengers: Doomsday, coming to theaters on December 18, 2026.
Two Black Panther Villains Appear in Avengers: Doomsday Trailer
Namor
Similar to the previous trailers for Avengers: Doomsday, the newest one is short – just about a minute long. Despite its length, it did feature a quick glimpse of Tenoch Huerta as Namor, suggesting he’ll be a significant character in the film.
In the trailer, Namor is briefly shown with what seems to be his Talokanil Spear and a cloak. The quick shot suggests he’s leading his people and potentially getting ready to fight alongside the Wakandans.
Given his appearance in promotional material, Namor is expected to play a significant part in the upcoming Doomsday movie. Because he’s a Mutant, and the next major phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will focus on Mutants, it’s likely Marvel is building towards interactions between Namor and the X-Men – who are also Mutants – within the film.
Ben Grimm’s appearance in the trailer hints that the Fantastic Four will be interacting with the people of Wakanda. If that’s true, and the people of Talokan are involved too, the trailer might be suggesting that Namor and Sue Storm will meet during the events of Doomsday.
This is significant because Sue and Namor have a long and complex relationship in the comics. It’s been shown that Namor has strong feelings for Sue, and she’s sometimes felt the same way. Fans have expected some romantic tension between them if they appear together in Doomsday, and the latest trailer seems to confirm that will happen.
Namora
Mabel Cadena plays Namora, who is second-in-command of the Talokanil people, reporting only to Namor. In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Namora demonstrates her fighting abilities and proves to be a powerful enemy to anyone who challenges her.
Similar to Namor, she appeared briefly in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, hinting that she’ll return to command the Talokan warriors in an upcoming conflict.
The people of Talokan will likely discover the invasion happening in their world and will do whatever it takes to defend themselves. This could lead them to join forces with the Avengers and other heroes to stop Doctor Doom. Despite being portrayed as opponents in Wakanda Forever, the Talokanil aren’t inherently villains; they are simply protecting their own.
It’s still uncertain how significant Namora’s role will be in Wakanda Forever, similar to the situation with Namor. While the trailer suggests she’ll be important, she might not have a lot of screen time given the number of other major characters sharing the spotlight in the movie.
Namora and many of the Talokanil are also at risk of dying, particularly if Namor and his people choose to fight Doom.
