With upcoming films like Spider-Man 4, Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be entering a new period of great success.
The next Spider-Man movie from Marvel Studios, currently titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is expected to come out this summer. After that, Avengers: Doomsday is planned for release in December, and Avengers: Secret Wars is set for 2027.
What is the update on Avengers: Doomsday, Secret Wars, and Spider-Man 4?
On the My Mom’s Basement podcast with Robbie Fox, Justin Kroll from Deadline shared news about Kevin Feige’s plans for upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects. Feige has led Marvel Studios as president since 2007.
Recently, some have observed that Kevin Feige seemed overextended managing multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe projects simultaneously. However, according to Jeff Kroll, that isn’t happening with the upcoming ‘Brand New Day,’ ‘Doomsday,’ and ‘Secret Wars’ films. Feige is fully focused on these projects.
According to Jeff Kroll, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has been completely dedicated to developing projects related to ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ for the past year. He appointed Jake Schreier to direct the new ‘X-Men’ movie last year and has largely left Amy Pascal in charge of the ‘Spider-Man’ films. Aside from casting Sadie Sink, Feige’s primary focus has been on these upcoming projects, and he’s been spending a lot of time in London. Kroll notes that when Feige concentrates solely on one thing, like he did with ‘Iron Man’ or ‘Thor’ in the past, the results are usually excellent. It’s when he’s juggling multiple projects that things become more challenging.
Destin Daniel Cretton directs the new Spider-Man movie, titled Brand New Day, which comes out July 31, 2026. Later that year, on December 18, 2026, Avengers: Doomsday will be released, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Both Avengers films are directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, known collectively as the Russo Brothers.
