Avengers: Doomsday ‘Ruins’ Popular Disney+ MCU TV Show’s Ending

Rumors suggest the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday comic event will negatively impact a Disney+ Marvel show, specifically one that recently featured a significant transformation for a well-known MCU character.

Since debuting on Disney+ in 2019, Marvel’s TV shows have generally connected to the larger Multiverse Saga, with characters appearing in later team-up movies like The Marvels, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Thunderbolts*. But, according to reports, the ending of Loki – a popular two-season sci-fi series that initially helped set up the Multiverse Saga – will be retconned in the upcoming Doomsday project.

Which Disney+ MCU show’s ending gets ruined in Avengers: Doomsday?

A source on X (formerly Twitter), MyTimeToShineHello, claims the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday negatively impacts the conclusion of Loki Season 2, specifically how it established Loki as the guardian of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse.

MyTimeToShineHello hasn’t detailed how Doctor Doom will impact Loki’s fate, but they may have hinted at it on X (formerly Twitter). They previously mentioned that Doctor Doom will kill everyone at the TVA, including Loki, in the next Avengers film.

Now that Loki is gone, no one is left to protect the Multiverse, potentially giving Doctor Doom the opportunity to seize control before the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. While it’s not certain when this will happen in the movie, a recent report suggests Thor and Captain America will be searching for Loki and the TVA during the Doomsday storyline.

There’s a chance that Doctor Doom might kill Loki after Thor and Captain America locate him, leaving Loki’s fate unresolved at the end of the film. However, the source of this information isn’t always reliable, so fans should wait for official confirmation from Marvel Studios or the movie itself before believing it.

Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, making this his tenth time playing the popular character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have loved Loki since his first appearance in the 2011 film Thor, and he’s gone on to appear in several other movies, including The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He’s also been a central figure in the Loki series and the What If…? animated show.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
