There’s talk that the next Avengers movie, reportedly titled Avengers: Doomsday, will introduce a female version of the villain Doctor Doom. While Robert Downey Jr. is expected to reprise his role as Victor von Doom, and become the main villain of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel seems to be planning multiple versions of the character, taking advantage of the multiverse concept.
A recent rumor suggests the next Avengers movie will feature a female Doctor Doom. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is planning to include multiple versions of the character, and specifically, female variants of Doctor Doom will appear in the film.
Although the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday already includes many villains and former villains, it will be the first time the film features multiple versions of Doctor Doom. As of now, it’s unknown who will play these different Doctor Dooms or any other new actors joining the movie.
The next Avengers movie, titled Avengers: Doomsday, will be the fifth installment in the series and part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robert Downey Jr. will play the central role of Victor von Doom, and the film will feature a massive cast of 27 actors who have appeared in previous Marvel movies. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
How Many Doom Variants Will Be Part of Avengers: Doomsday?
Since Avengers: Doomsday is set to span multiple universes, fans anticipate seeing different versions of many Marvel characters on both the hero and villain sides. This means we’ll likely see multiple Doctor Dooms, with Downey’s version expected to gather his own group of villains to pursue a secret agenda.
If the rumors about a female Doctor Doom are true, it could be a clever way to introduce Valeria Richards, the daughter of Reed and Sue Richards (and sister to Franklin). In the comics, Valeria often has powers similar to her mother’s, but combined with Doctor Doom’s incredible intelligence, making her a formidable and dangerous opponent.
I’m so excited for Doomsday! It sounds like Robert Downey Jr.’s version of Doom isn’t the only one we’ll see, and he’s clearly got a huge plan brewing. Marvel is keeping a lot under wraps, but I have a feeling the number of different Dooms and characters involved is going to be absolutely massive. It’s going to be epic when we finally find out just how big this all is!
