Avengers: Doomsday – More Returning X-Men Actors Teased

Okay, so after hearing some buzz about Avengers: Doomsday, I’m starting to get really excited about the possibility of seeing some familiar faces from the X-Men universe return. The movie is already promising a huge look back at Marvel’s history, but honestly, I have a feeling the cast list is even more extensive than what’s been revealed so far – I’m specifically hoping for some X-Men to make an appearance!

So far, seven original X-Men actors are set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday: Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. But recent comments suggest even more X-Men from past movies will be joining them.

Chris Claremont Claims Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey Is In Avengers: Doomsday

Chris Claremont, a well-known and long-time writer of the X-Men comics, says that Famke Janssen, who played Jean Grey, is expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, even though Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed it.

Although it sounds unexpected, there’s a good reason to take this seriously. Claremont accurately predicted Chris Evans would reprise his role as Captain America before Marvel even announced it, which hints they might be bringing Claremont on as a consultant for the next big Marvel movie event.

I’m hearing a wild rumor that Jean Grey, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, might actually be hiding inside Doomsday! If that’s true, it could mean we see a lot more characters pop up than we initially thought – way beyond who’s been officially announced. It’s exciting to think about the possibilities!

We May Be Getting More Returning X-Men Than We Think

Jean Grey’s potential return might not be a standalone event. If Marvel is being secretive about her role, it suggests they could also be keeping other X-Men characters from the Fox films under wraps.

It would be amazing to see familiar faces like Halle Berry as Storm, Anna Paquin as Rogue, and Shawn Ashmore as Iceman return. Even quick appearances from these and other characters—many of whom still had interesting stories to tell—would be fantastic. These cameos could offer a final goodbye before a potential multiversal event possibly erases the X-Men’s world and its characters.

The first seven X-Men confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday are really promising. But, given recent statements from Claremont about Jean Grey’s involvement, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see even more X-Men characters join the film.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18th from Marvel Studios.
