Avengers: Doomsday Cast Doesn’t Include This Cemented MCU Star

One MCU star has confirmed that they won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel is currently finishing up work on Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film is expected to hit US theaters later this year, and a follow-up movie, Avengers: Secret Wars, is planned for release in 2027.

Which MCU star will not be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday?

Kat Dennings, who plays Darcy Lewis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has confirmed she won’t be appearing in the upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

She stated she was present during filming, but ultimately isn’t appearing in the final product. She repeatedly emphasized this point, clarifying that even if she were in it, she wouldn’t be allowed to say so, but that she genuinely isn’t part of it at all. She seemed certain the scenes with her had already been shot.

Dennings revealed that Marvel once digitally scanned her, giving them the ability to include her character in a film if they chose to, though it doesn’t seem likely they will.

Honestly, I wasn’t shocked to hear Kat Dennings won’t be in the upcoming Avengers movie. She’s never really been part of that core team, and the cast of ‘Doomsday’ is already bursting at the seams. But let’s not forget, she’s been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade, first appearing in ‘Thor’ back in 2011. Since then, we’ve seen her in ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ ‘WandaVision,’ and ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ plus a few fun cameos in ‘What If…?’ – including one particularly memorable episode where she ends up marrying Howard the Duck and having a kid! It’s been a good run for Darcy, even if she’s sitting this one out.

The movie Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to come out on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
