Avatar Star Debunks AI Claims About Upcoming Sequels
Jack Champion is recognized, to some extent, for his role within the Avatar series. As we approach the release of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” this year, Champion is clarifying certain statements regarding the upcoming Avatar movies and his character, Spider.
In a recent video titled “Debunking AI,” Champion addressed various statements about his career generated by artificial intelligence. Among other things, some comments were made regarding the plot of Spider in the series Avatar: Fire and Ash, which he said sounded reasonably accurate, although he couldn’t provide more details to avoid spoilers. However, during this discussion, Champion was able to debunk one claim outright about the upcoming fourth film.
The prediction suggested that Spider might align with the Metkayina clan and embrace their customs, potentially developing relationships with Tsireya. Additionally, AI hypothesized that Spider could strengthen his connection to Eywa in a spiritual manner or acquire an avatar form in the future movies.
champion asked curiously, “I’m not sure, but we’ll discover on December 19th, which is when Avatar: Fire and Ash releases.
AI made an assertion regarding Champion’s professional association with director James Cameron. It was proposed that Champion drew motivation from Cameron to stretch his boundaries, adopt discipline and tenacity, and amplify his ardor for narrative crafting. Although Champion acknowledged this as a rather AI-like expression, he verified the accuracy of the statement, referring to Cameron as a “mentor” and a “paternal figure” following their collaboration spanning over four years.
One aspect that left Champion taken aback was when the AI pointed out that the actor could hold his breath for up to 5 minutes and 33 seconds, a skill honed through his work in the Avatar movies. At first, he was astounded that the AI service managed to make this claim, but upon verification, he acknowledged that he may have boasted about it more than he initially remembered.
“I’m very proud of that,” he said.
AI Isn’t Completely Right About Avatar
Initially, AI appeared convincing about its statements regarding Avatar 4, but things changed when it was found out that what was said wasn’t accurate. According to AI, filming for Avatar 4 started partially in 2022, focusing on the young cast before a time jump, with plans to resume full production in early 2026. However, this information turned out to be untrue as it was recently disclosed by Champion that he had not heard anything of the sort.
“I didn’t know that, but I guess it’s telling me my schedule,” he said.
