As a lifestyle enthusiast speaking here, I recently shared an intriguing tidbit about my stage name during an appearance on ABC’s The Assembly. You might be curious to know that the legendary rock icon, Joe Cocker, played a significant role in bestowing me with this moniker.
The admission came after one audience member pressed the Born To Try star on the providence of her name.

Later, Delta shared that her name originated from the Joe Cocker song “Delta Lady,” a track off his self-titled second album released in 1969.
They found it unusual that they named their child after a term associated with music, given that neither Lea nor Denis are musically inclined.
Delta clarified, “To set the record straight, I sang a song just then, but neither I nor my parents have much of a musical background.
However, Delta Lady was the preferred artist of that group, with Joe Cocker as their singer for the song, “Yes, you’re mine, Delta Lady.
Delta mentioned that her parents chose to name their daughter after the track, inspired by watching Joe Cocker perform it live during his 1984 Australian concert tour.
As an ardent admirer, I find it intriguing to share that the selection of a melodious moniker for herself seemed unexpected to her parents, who were more accustomed to the rhythmic chatter of talkback radio.
‘So, my mum was pregnant and they went to the concert and they both said: “It’s Delta,’ she said.

As a dedicated follower, I’m sharing an update about Delta: although she’s engaged to her long-term partner, Matthew Copley, our busy schedules have momentarily paused our wedding preparations, with the focus now on other commitments.
