Australian Ninja Warrior Star Zed Colback Hit by Second Family Tragedy After Brother’s Death
Australian Ninja Warrior‘s Zed Colback has experienced a devastating personal loss, as it was two years ago that his brother Sam tragically passed away due to an accidental drowning incident.
On Wednesday, the reality television personality, aged 31, posted a poignant message on social media, revealing that his cherished grandmother had passed away. Accompanying the heartfelt announcement was a treasured photograph capturing their special bond as she met her great-granddaughter for the first time.
‘Gonna miss you heaps Nanna. I’m thankful for the years of great memories with you,’ Zed began.
‘You’re finally with your Heavenly Father. Give Grandad and Sam a huge hug from me.’
‘Sorry to hear, my condolences to you and your family,’ one person wrote.
‘What a beautiful lady’, commented someone else, before a third added, ‘Big hugs to all of you.’
In the month of December 2023, Zed experienced a profound loss as his brother, Sam, met a sad end during a snorkeling mishap.
Sam’s beachside funeral was livestreamed on social media at the time.
In December 2023, Sam tragically passed away at the age of 24 while on a lone snorkeling adventure off the coast of Western Australia.
His body was recovered from the water in Albany, on the southern tip of WA.
Zed paid tribute to Sam in a touching post following the tragedy.
He posted a collection of treasured family photographs showing him and Sam enjoying life to its maximum, as they scaled cliffs and soared through the sky on parachutes. Accompanying the photos was a poignant message.
‘Love ya little bro,’ he began.
‘Wish we could go on one last adventure together.’
In a family of 13, Zed lamented to 7News that he wished he had more moments with his deceased brother.
He mentioned, “At the moment, it doesn’t cross your mind that those instances would be among the last memories you have of someone.
‘We took every chance to get out and do something. We were on the same wavelength.’
In 2018, Zed tied the knot with his beloved wife, Nicole, and currently, he dedicates his time to teaching rock climbing.
