Two women died in a car accident early Sunday morning while driving home from Lady Gaga’s concert in Sydney. The concert had been sold out.
A head-on collision between a Mercedes sedan and a Kia hatchback happened on the Pacific Highway at Wadalba, near Wyong, around 2:15am.
It’s with a heavy heart I share that the two women in the Kia tragically didn’t survive the crash. The driver was 45 years old, and her passenger was 38. They both passed away at the scene, and it’s just devastating news.
Oh my gosh, I just heard about this and I’m so worried! Apparently, these women – they haven’t released their names yet – were at Lady Gaga’s last Sydney show with me at Accor Stadium! They were all together, friends heading home after the best night of my life, and something terrible happened. I’m just hoping they’re okay, they seemed so happy all night!
Investigators think the Mercedes drifted into oncoming traffic, causing the crash. The force of the impact then caused the other car to flip multiple times.
I was really worried to hear about the driver of the Mercedes. He’s 49 years old, and paramedics treated him right at the scene for injuries to his arm and leg. Sadly, he was taken to John Hunter Hospital and I understand he’s still in serious condition. I’m hoping he makes a full recovery.

He will undergo mandatory testing.
The Pacific Highway was closed in both directions following the crash.
Police have secured the area where the crash happened, and investigators are working to determine what caused it.
Police have taken both cars for forensic examination, and will be closely examining how fast they were going and how they were being driven as part of the investigation.
The incident happened after a dancer fell off stage during the US pop star’s last Australian concert on Saturday. The performance had to be stopped due to heavy rain.
Lady Gaga began her performance at 7pm, but had to briefly pause around 9pm when an unexpected incident occurred.
The singer had to stop performing when her crew quickly walked towards the front of the stage and an incident occurred.
The music cut off abruptly, and Lady Gaga and her crew hurried backstage to find shoes with better traction for the slick stage.

Oh my gosh, you guys, did you SEE Michael fall?! I was so worried! But honestly, Gaga was AMAZING. The second he went down, she was running to him, just to make sure he was okay. Everyone online is saying the same thing – she’s such a sweetheart for caring so much! It was honestly a little scary, but seeing her reaction just made me love her even more.
‘She’s so special the way she ran straight over, climbed down and made sure he was okay,’ one said.
‘The way she climbs down to check,’ another wrote.
‘Rain is her biggest enemy,’ a third added.
Lady Gaga’s Mayhem tour is one of the year’s most exciting events, and tickets were in high demand – over 30,000 people joined the online queue within hours of them becoming available in April.
It’s the first time the pop star has held concerts in Australia since 2014.
