An Australian reality star has recounted a disgusting act that he witnessed at the airport.
Ben Polson, the first person to win Australian Ninja Warrior – a show that is no longer on television – shared a difficult experience with his 38,000 Instagram followers on Friday.
He revealed that the incident occurred as he was disembarking an early morning flight.
‘I cannot believe some people,’ he began the clip.
I arrived on a flight yesterday around 6am, and everyone was exhausted. Then, a man came out of the restroom.
Ben shared that the man unexpectedly spat on a wall while people were walking through the terminal.

According to Ben, the man was short and slender, wearing a two-piece Nike tracksuit. He walked ahead of Ben and others, then turned and spat on the wall.
‘Not just a little one. I see that bad boy dripping down the wall and I’m like: ‘Woah”.
I was absolutely floored – honestly, disgusted – when I saw what they did! I immediately started going back and forth in my head, wondering if I should say something, if I should do something. It was a real internal battle, trying to decide whether to confront them right then and there.
I just stood there, frozen, as he pushed his way through the crowd. Honestly, I was thinking, ‘Wow, that was really out of line,’ but I hesitated. Should I speak up? Should I even try to intervene? It all happened so fast, and I just couldn’t decide what to do.
He added that his conscience ‘got the better’ of him and he decided to challenge the man.
I gently tapped him on the shoulder, and when he turned around, I told him, “Hey, please don’t spit on the wall. It’s really not okay.”
The situation escalated quickly when the man admitted he had been spraying an Indigenous artwork on the wall.
Ben explained that the man interrupted him and angrily stated, ‘This isn’t just a wall, it’s an Aboriginal painting. This is my land, and I can do what I please,’ using offensive language.

That makes the situation far more serious. It’s shocking that he intentionally disrespected an Aboriginal painting by spitting on it.
Ben said he kept scolding the man for what he’d done until the man finally walked away to escape the criticism.
Honestly, when that happened, I immediately told him, ‘That’s really disrespectful, and completely unacceptable.’ It’s important to set boundaries, and I needed to make it clear that behavior wasn’t okay.
While I was talking, he began muttering, mostly words starting with ‘C’, and quickly walked away. I shouted after him, calling him a disgrace.
To avoid making the situation worse, Ben allowed the man to walk away, but first he told the staff what had happened.
After going through immigration, I informed the officers about his actions, and they spoke with him about it.
Ben finished his statement by saying he was shocked to be the only person who voiced an opinion, but he wasn’t surprised that no one else did.
He admitted it was unfortunate no one voiced their opinion, but explained that speaking up can be really challenging.

I’m a large person, and significantly bigger than he was. Despite that size difference, I struggled to speak clearly and calm down when I tried to talk to him.
‘In the moment it’s really not as easy as you probably think.’
The post received a lot of comments, and many followers applauded Ben for being so honest and direct.
‘Good on you – I don’t know if I’d have the confidence to confront him,’ one fan offered.
Oh my gosh, someone else totally gets it! They said, and I’m paraphrasing because I’ve basically memorized it, ‘Good for you, seriously! I wish I had the guts to step up like that, but honestly? I’d probably just freeze and desperately look around hoping someone else would handle it.’ It’s SO true, right?! I mean, we all want to be heroes, but…
