Aussie rapper The Kid Laroi confirms new romance after split with pop star Tate McRae

The Kid Laroi has moved on following his split with pop star Tate McRae.

Charlton Howard, known as The Kid LAROI, was spotted at the Australian Open in Melbourne this week to watch the tennis.

He didn’t come to the event alone, and was seen looking affectionate with Sophie HM, who is a director and producer, best known for the song ‘Thousand Miles’.

The Aussie rapper, 22, popped up in a very telling post on the brunette’s Instagram story.

The photo, taken from Sophie’s point of view, showed a couple riding in a cable car that seemed to be very high up.

Although Sophie’s face isn’t visible in the picture, her legs – wearing wide-legged pants – were extended so Laroi could hold on.

Laroi, wearing a black baseball cap to shield his face, playfully kissed Sophie’s ankle while holding an iced drink.

On Tuesday, the couple was seen enjoying the tennis match between Alex de Minaur and Carlos Alcaraz at Melbourne Park’s centre court.

They seemed genuinely happy to be together, completely focused on the game.

There was a chance for people to mingle, and The Laroi was seen holding hands with her at one point.

Laroi called time on his romance with McRae in July last year, after a year of dating.

He seemed to acknowledge their breakup, stating they were ending things amicably. This came after fans alleged his representatives had paid people to post negative comments about her online.

McRae told Rolling Stone that the breakup in December left her feeling overwhelmed by the public attention it received.

McRae described the experience as frightening and too much to handle, adding that she would never speak so negatively, even when discussing the lives of people she cares about.

I underestimated how upsetting it would be to have my personal life become public – because the truth is always more complicated than people realize.

‘I also hate people painting a situation that’s worse than it is,’ she continued.

I’ve come to accept that he’s going to create music, and I’m going to create music too – it’s just how we both naturally express what’s inside us.

The blonde added, ‘That’s our art, that’s our job. And once it’s out there, it’s not mine anymore.’
