Aussie pop star Dean Lewis makes emotional apology after being accused of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ by multiple women: ‘I am enrolling myself in intense therapy’

Singer Dean Lewis has publicly addressed allegations of misconduct after several women came forward with accusations against him.

Singer Justin Timberlake, 38, posted a message on Instagram Thursday night addressing recent accusations that his romantic advances made several women feel uncomfortable.

I wanted to address the recent social media posts about me. I realize people are upset and let down after private, personal conversations were revealed,” Dean said.

Regarding my relationships with adults over the last ten years, I want to be clear that everything was consensual and legal.

Those who are campaigning against me have often said the same thing, and it’s upsetting to hear anyone imply I’ve broken the law.

Elaina, a 28-year-old who accuses Dean of wrongdoing, recently posted an eight-minute video to TikTok detailing her experience with the singer. She says she first met him in 2019 while working in the entertainment industry.

“He texted me asking if I’d be at his show, and if I was going to ‘dress up for him,’” Elaina, who was 23 at the time, explained. “I found that a little strange when it happened.”

She explained she expected some level of intimacy when we were together, but what actually happened made her really uneasy.

‘It went from zero to 100. I was kind of taken aback.

While we were kissing, I quickly realized I didn’t feel at ease, and there was no attempt to check if I was okay.

Elaina continued, explaining that he desperately tried to convince her by saying anything he could. She specifically remembered him telling her, “We’re friends who like each other and just want to enjoy ourselves.”

It really bothered me when he looked at me and asked if I wanted to make him happy.

Another fan also posted a clip of what she claims is a recording of a phone call with Dean. In the recording, a voice believed to be his says, “You wore that white dress, what the f. Baby, I love looking at you.”

A fan named Eliza, who prefers to keep her real name private, says she first met Lewis when she was 19. According to Eliza, Lewis’s team invited her backstage at a concert.

Following the meeting, Eliza shared with The Daily Telegraph that she felt overwhelmed with affection, or ‘love bombed,’ by the pop star. She explained that he referred to her as ‘daddy’ in their online conversations and asked her to send him explicit photos.

She described a period of intense communication, saying, ‘It felt like constant, overwhelming texting and excessive displays of affection.’

‘In my delusional world I thought like I’m the one.’

In his statement, Dean acknowledged he had flirted with adult women on occasion, but emphasized that his intention was never to make anyone feel uneasy.

He admitted to flirting with women of various ages, both in person and online. Sometimes, these interactions led to consensual intimate encounters that he believed were private.

I truly and deeply apologize to anyone I’ve hurt. I also want to sincerely apologize to my family and fans for letting them down.

Dean finished by saying he would be taking steps to ensure this behaviour was never repeated.

He explained that he’s starting intensive therapy to improve his decision-making and completely change how he handles dating and relationships.

‘In time I hope to re-earn the trust of those I’ve hurt.’ 

It is not suggested that any of the behaviour Dean allegedly engaged in was illegal. 

The singer shot to fame in 2016 with his hit Waves. 

He continued his winning streak with his 2019 hit, “Be Alright,” which topped the Australian ARIA charts for two weeks.
