Aussie music promoter reveals the real reason why Oasis will only visit Sydney and Melbourne on their 2025 reunion tour

Aussie music promoter reveals the real reason why Oasis will only visit Sydney and Melbourne on their 2025 reunion tour

As a dedicated concert-goer who has been following Oasis since their debut, I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed with the limited tour stops announced for Australia. After all, I’ve traveled across the country to catch some of my favorite bands, from Adelaide to Perth, and it seems like Oasis is snubbing our music-loving communities this time around.

Curious Australian fans who have been eagerly anticipating Oasis’s long-awaited 2025 reunion tour are left puzzled as to why this legendary band will only perform in Sydney and Melbourne, rather than touring other cities across Australia.

Initially planned for multiple shows per city, Noel and Liam Gallagher will now only play an additional Melbourne concert due to an unprecedented surge in ticket sales during the presale, with around 170,000 Australian fans securing their tickets.

Instead, it appears that the renowned Manchester band has overlooked Brisbane, a popular destination for international celebrities, as well as Adelaide, Perth, and New Zealand, in their current tour schedule.

Currently, a music promoter from Australia has disclosed the genuine cause for the restricted Australian concert dates during Noel and Liam Gallagher’s initial tour in their country after a 19-year gap.

Experienced concert organizer, Michael Coppel, disclosed that Oasis was given opportunities for performances in different Australian cities, yet they declined the invitations.

Additionally, he dismissed speculations from fans about potential additional performances by the Gallagher brothers, emphasizing that their worldwide tour schedule is already filled to capacity.

He informed The Courier Mail that they have plans to travel to Japan following their trip to Sydney, which means they won’t be able to extend their journey to any other states.

They declined our proposal for additional performances in different regions, content with focusing on Melbourne and Sydney alone.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d say: “I must admit, it’s quite satisfying to see that our reach has expanded. In North America, there are ten shows running, while we currently have five shows in Australia. It seems we’re making some good strides!

Additionally, he pointed out another factor, which is the transformation in the global live music industry. Nowadays, bands often choose to arrange their world tours collectively, opting for a unified schedule across regions such as the UK, Europe, Oceania, Asia, and the U.S., instead of performing separate segments in each region.

The organizer pointed out that Live Nation’s capacity to arrange a worldwide tour as a significant aspect that contributed to reuniting the Gallagher brothers.

170,000 tickets were quickly bought by enthusiastic Australians during the pre-sale event on Monday, which lasted only a few short hours.

For nearly two decades, Oasis will be making their return to Australia for a concert at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 31 and November 1.

Since the incredible demand for tickets during the pre-sale, they’ve scheduled an additional third concert on November 4, 2025, in Melbourne.

Tickets for an additional Melbourne concert become available for purchase starting October 18, at 12am AEDT, through Ticketmaster.

Approximately 55,000 people can fit into the stadium, so it’s possible for about 165,000 music enthusiasts to catch the iconic band perform during their three concert dates.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be making my way to Sydney, where Oasis will grace the stage at the Accor Stadium on both November 7 and 8. Over those two spectacular shows, they’re expected to captivate approximately 167,000 fans, including me!

People attending these popular concerts are already expressing dissatisfaction over ticket prices, as some general admission tickets are reportedly selling for up to $300 apiece.

However, in response to allegations about escalating prices, Live Nation’s chairman, Coppel, argued that the price increase is consistent with what happens across all industries during a cost-of-living crisis.

In 2004, the typical ticket cost for a live show in Australia was $75. Compared to that, the average price last year jumped up to $128. Here’s something to ponder: What else do you think has more than doubled in price over the past two decades?

Among the approximately 2,700 live venues in Australia, we represent only six of them, making us one of the smaller ticketing companies operating here. In comparison, Ticketek is larger than Ticketmaster within this particular market.

Many Oasis fans have already been left empty-handed when the hotly-anticipated 17-date UK reunion tour sold out in a matter of hours in an online fiasco.

Approximately 14 million people endured waiting lines for eight hours in an attempt to acquire the coveted tickets to witness the renowned rock band perform, leaving many disappointed as they were unable to secure a ticket.
