Aussie influencer with 'paralysed stomach' announces split from husband after eight years together

As an avid follower of Steph Kelly’s inspiring journey, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of admiration for her strength and resilience. Her life story is nothing short of extraordinary – from battling heart conditions and a potassium wasting disorder in her teenage years to surviving a horrific car accident that left her chronically ill and unable to eat solid foods. Yet, through it all, she found love, got married, and built an incredible following on TikTok.

Last year in June, the 28-year-old, who gained popularity on TikTok following a 2018 car accident that caused her stomach and intestines to become immobile, tied the knot with her long-term partner, Adam.

It seems that the Sydney woman who is both a nurse and a model has eliminated any signs of her former spouse on her publicly visible Instagram account. However, she kept her profile picture as a selfie taken in her wedding attire, which includes a lace dress and veil.

For nearly ten years, the pair had been inseparable. In the year 2022, Adam proposed to his partner with a Tiffany solitaire ring, and they exchanged their vows in the presence of loved ones.

On their special day, videos posted later revealed the newlyweds switching into pajamas during the reception, followed by their initial dance set to Taylor Swift’s Love Story.

Steph, born with severe heart problems and a condition that caused potassium loss, which kept her confined to a wheelchair during her teenage years, experienced an additional setback when she and Adam were involved in a car accident in 2018, leaving her chronically unwell. For the past four years, she has been unable to consume solid foods.

On Tuesday, Steph shared that following eight years as a couple, she and her husband have chosen to part ways.

Over time, we came to know each other at a relatively early stage, and it turned out that as our lives progressed, we began to evolve separately.

2020 marked my breakthrough on social media, where I gained notoriety by sharing unconventional videos chronicling my relentless pursuit of happiness amidst the challenges posed by my ‘hidden affliction’ – an invisible illness that’s a constant part of my everyday life.

She even made videos documenting the effort involved in getting a spray tan for her wedding and choosing a dress that wouldn’t show the ‘central line noodle’ that delivers nutrients to her heart.

Fans of the content creator have speculated for some months that her marriage had broken down.

In October, Steph made it known that she and Adam would be leaving their two-story residence for a new dwelling. However, it seems that she’s been residing with one of her friends instead.

Before 2020, she was dependent on feeding tubes for 16 hours daily. Now, her life is sustained through a medical method known as Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN).

Earlier, Steph’s videos primarily showcased her daily life at home with her partner and their dog, Oatley. However, in the past few months, she has been adapting to the influencer lifestyle, given her health conditions. This includes walking the ramp during Australian Fashion Week, leaving the hospital to catch Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour on several occasions, attending grand premieres and exclusive events such as the TikTok Awards.

As I reflect on our journey together, I am deeply appreciative of the cherished memories and significant moments we’ve created, and I know these will forever be enshrined in our individual narratives.

‘I wish him nothing but the best and ask that no negativity is sent his way.’

Steph assured her 500,000 fans that she’s enveloped in an abundance of love and encouragement. She added that her circle of intimate friends has provided immense solace throughout this period.

Afterward, she mentioned that she intends to pause for a brief spell from her regular online engagements, opting instead for a week’s rest to rejuvenate following the end of her 8-year relationship.

“For the next seven days, I plan on stepping away from social media to rejuvenate and gather my thoughts. I appreciate your warm sentiments and understanding.

Apologies for not always responding promptly to your messages. However, please know that I highly value your support.

Despite suffering permanent, life-changing injuries from the car accident, Adam only incurred minor wounds as the other vehicle collided with his side of the car instead.

She explained that they had only been together for 18 months prior to the accident.

In a video shared in February 2023, Steph expressed that she genuinely believes the accident served to make our relationship more resilient.

He is my soulmate, and here’s his background: Prior to the accident, I was frequently ill and spent much time in hospitals. Given this, I was confident that he would stay by my side through thick and thin, regardless of the situation’s severity. Consequently, I consider him an exceptional man, and I am deeply thankful for having him in my life.
