Aussie icon Jimmy Barnes issues heartbreaking plea as family member goes missing in Sydney
Jimmy Barnes has issued a desperate plea to fans after one of his family members went missing.
On Sunday, the Australian singer (who is currently 69 years old) took to Facebook to ask his followers for assistance in locating his grandnephew. This is because his family has reported him as missing.
‘Please help us find Blake, Jackie’s nephew,’ he wrote above the missing person’s report.
14-year-old Blake Powell vanished in Sydney’s Castle Hill area on a Friday afternoon at 4 pm and has not been spotted since then.
The individual stands at approximately 6 feet tall, has a slender frame, weighs around 154 pounds, possesses a Caucasian facial structure with an olive skin tone, sports dark hair and eyes.

The text continues by mentioning that this young boy is often seen using public transportation and frequenting shopping malls located in Sydney.
‘Police and Family hold concerns for his welfare given his young age.’

The distressing update arrives following another medical setback for Barnes, which occurred in February. This latest incident followed three surgical procedures he underwent over the past year and a half.
A heart-rending announcement comes on the heels of yet another health crisis that Barnes faced in February. In the last year and a half, this unfortunate event followed three separate surgeries he had to endure.
Since the end of 2023, the artist who made “The Never Tear Us Apart” has repeatedly visited hospitals for treatment that included two hip surgeries and an open-heart operation.
Six months ago, the musician had another operation on his hip, which followed the emergency ‘corrective’ hip surgery he needed in August of the previous year.
A video posted on Instagram showed Jimmy navigating a hospital corridor with the help of a walker, only a day following his surgery.
Dressed in a hospital robe, Jimmy seemed cheerful as he walked around the facility, donning compression socks and using foot pumps.

‘I’m walking, day one. Woohoo! I’ll be jogging by tomorrow. Dancing by Friday,’ he joked.
In August, Jimmy had to postpone about two months’ worth of concerts due to discomfort on his side that he felt during a performance in New Zealand. This prompted an immediate corrective hip surgery.
Previously, he had open-heart surgery to combat a staph infection. Unfortunately, the infection recurred and targeted his hip, necessitating another operation and a six-week healing process.
In October, the rock star, who had faced health challenges, came back in grand style onstage. He was accompanied by his group Cold Chisel during their performance at The Entertainment Quarter.
For the Cold Chisel’s 50th anniversary tour, known as “The Big Five-O,” more than 150,000 tickets were sold over 16 performances, earning a spot among the most eagerly awaited Australian tours in this year.
