Aussie boxer Harry Garside reveals the shock reason being accused of domestic violence was 'the best thing that ever happened' to him

As a lifestyle expert with a knack for uncovering insights from people’s experiences, I find Harry Garside’s story incredibly inspiring. His ordeal of being falsely accused and arrested for domestic violence, despite being an overwhelmingly challenging time, turned out to be a catalyst for personal growth and self-discovery.

Harry Garside stated that getting apprehended for a false accusation of domestic violence turned out to be the most beneficial experience in his life.

The Aussie boxing champion, 27, was arrested at Sydney Airport last year as he returned home after appearing on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa.

In a case involving allegations of assault against his former girlfriend Ash Ruscoe, he asserted his innocence strongly. Later, the police dismissed the charges following the presentation of a video evidence by his legal representatives, which they claimed demonstrated that his ex-girlfriend was the one who instigated the alleged incident.

On The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show, Garside recently discussed his experiences with the court case ordeal and shared why he feels grateful for the challenging period that ensued.

He expressed, “That experience and the accusations I faced were incredibly burdensome at the time. In retrospect, I can see now that it was actually a wonderful turning point in my life.”

It was similar to a phase in my existence when I truly needed to take charge for myself, act as my own confidant, and stand by my own decisions.

At a very difficult time in the experience, he started gathering proof that demonstrated his positive qualities, which greatly improved his spirits.

He said, “That moment felt significant, as if it was time to alter my narrative, my perspective. I realized I had to cease accumulating proof that supports my negative self-image.”

‘I’ve been gathering proof that I am a good person, and I truly believe I am. If a friend needed help right now, I would do my utmost to assist them as much as possible.’

If I hadn’t gone through that grueling experience, I wouldn’t have been driven to grow and transform in the way I did. It was this tough journey that ultimately shaped me into a stronger, more resilient individual.

Last May, Garside was found not guilty of a charge related to domestic violence that had been alleged against him by his ex-partner Ash, after an investigation into their disputes at home.

All charges against him were dropped a month after he was first arrested.

After wrapping up the reality TV show “I’m a Celebrity!” in South Africa, Garside found himself being arrested at Sydney International Airport shortly after landing, in quite a dramatic fashion.

On March 25th, exactly the day when Garside initially departed for the event and ceased all contact with the external world until his elimination, Ruscoe chose to inform the authorities about her concerns for her own wellbeing.

At that moment, Garside asserted that he unequivocally refutes the accusations of violence and disagrees with the version of events presented to the police.

Next month, the Olympic boxer will be declared innocent, as the violent crime charges against them have been officially dropped.
