Aussie actor Teresa Palmer makes shock MeToo confession: ‘I was taken advantage of’

Teresa Palmer contemplated a point in time when she considered leaving acting, following instances where she felt compelled to pursue a romantic relationship with one of her male colleagues.

The Australian actress, aged 39, known for her roles in successful movies like The Choice and Hacksaw Ridge, disclosed that she was let go from a film following an incident reminiscent of the #MeToo movement.

In an interview with Daily Telegraph, Teresa revealed some disturbing aspects of Hollywood she encountered. She disclosed that she had come across individuals who pressured her into romantic liaisons with fellow actors during film productions, supposedly to enhance their on-screen connection.

‘I had my own MeToo experience. I was taken advantage of,’ she told the publication.

At that point, she began to doubt whether acting was still her dream, and it seemed like she might abandon it permanently.

At the age of 20, she shared, she had lost her job due to my refusal to be part of some questionable practices involving manipulation and power plays. Consequently, I was terminated.

Shortly thereafter, Teresa made her way back to Adelaide, accepting in her mind that her dream had come to an end and it was now appropriate for her to find work as a drama instructor.

Nevertheless, Ann Churchill-Brown, her agent and representative of the renowned actress Nicole Kidman, refused to allow her to quit.

She said, “Observe – that was a truly unpleasant encounter, yet let me assure you, there will be other experiences awaiting you that will serve as a healing balm.

Teresa went on to star in many career-defining film roles, proving her agent right. 

Currently, Teresa is still engaged in filmmaking, yet she opted to swap the hectic pace of the U.S. for a content, tranquil existence in Byron Bay.

She has four biological children with her husband Mark Webber, along with a stepchild, and is now anticipating the birth of her fifth child.

Teresa recently showed off her baby bump at the premiere for her latest film project. 

On Wednesday evening, she radiated joy while presenting her latest film, Mix Tape, at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney, accompanied by her spouse, Mark.

The 28-weeks-pregnant actress chose a form-fitting dress of deep black color, adorned with shimmering threads all over it.

The long sleeved number clung to her blossoming belly and she added some patent heels to the look.

Teresa opted for a fresh, clean makeup style, featuring a smoky eye and a soft pink matte lipstick. She styled her long, golden hair in loose, wavy curls reminiscent of a mermaid’s tail.

Mark meanwhile matched his wife in an all black ensemble as he shared her red carpet moment.
