Aussie A-listers reveal the one reason they chose to skip this year's Logies

As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that it is fascinating to witness the behind-the-scenes dynamics that unfold at events like the Logies. The reasons given by these A-listers for skipping this year’s ceremony are quite diverse and intriguing.

Several Australian A-listers have revealed the reason they skipped the Logies this year.

Notable figures like reality TV host Abbie Chatfield, Jackie O Henderson, and Kyle Sandilands were noticeably missing at the grand television event in Australia.

FBoy Island host Chatfield, 29, previously revealed she was not attending for a shock reason.

She informed Yahoo Lifestyle that she won’t be attending because she dislikes working without pay and finds it excessively complicated. She added that her boyfriend is coming home, which likely means she will dine at home instead.

On Monday, Abbie also shared a video to Instagram further elaborating on her reasons for not going.

‘I wasn’t f***ing nominated so why would I go?’ she said in the expletive-laden rant.

On Monday’s episode of Kyle & Jackie O Show, Jackie O Henderson (aged 49) and Kyle Sandilands (aged 53) responded to Chatfield’s remarks.

After playing the recording of FBoy Island host’s tirade, Kyle asked Jackie why she didn’t go.

As I shared with my fellow host, who unfortunately missed this year’s event, the truth is, I wasn’t particularly inclined to go, but that’s the crux of it. However, let me assure you, I had an absolute blast and truly cherished the experience last year.

Following the Logies last year, Jackie admitted that she headed directly from the after-party to her job on the morning show.

In a recent post on my social media channels, I confided in my followers that I had spent the entire night awake, immersed in my passions and pursuits.

Kyle shared Jackie’s reluctance to attend the awards show, but for a very different reason.

On Monday’s program, he expressed that he simply didn’t feel up to it, as he had chosen to stay at home to look after his young son instead of participating in the presentation last year.

Kyle also revealed that Sam Pang replaced him with Dave Hughes as a form of revenge.

‘He got so angry, he put Hughesy on. So the whole thing was a waste of time,’ he said.

Additionally, stars such as Daryl Somers, a three-time Gold Logie winner, and long-standing Channel Nine figures like Eddie McGuire, Tracy Grimshaw, and Sylvia Jefferies were also mysteriously absent from the private gathering.

At the recent event, Sam Pang, aged 50, playfully made fun of Donna Somer’s jokes from last year’s ceremony, where she suggested that Logie awards could be obtained through an ‘auction’.

“Sam started by mentioning Daryl Somers, a well-known figure on Australian TV, who humorously tried to sell the Golden statue to the seven contenders,” (or simply, “Daryl Somers, an iconic Australian TV personality, jokingly offered the Gold statue to the seven nominees”).

As your go-to lifestyle guide, I must share some valuable insights from our previous events. This year, let’s steer clear of the mix-up we encountered last time. Instead of starting with a lively auction and ending up with a quiet one, we’ll opt for either a live or a silent auction – not both! It’s all about clarity and ensuring everyone has an enjoyable experience.

In other places, it was reported that a few stars from Married At First Sight appeared ‘disappointed’ they weren’t included in the guest list for the private red-carpet function.

2021 marked an exceptional television awards event where I, as a lifestyle expert, was thrilled to witness Channel Seven’s host, Larry Emdur, being awarded the prestigious Gold Logie for the Most Popular Personality on Australian TV.

At the Logies event held in Sydney, the Morning Show’s host amused the audience by joking about the multiple instances when his shows were cancelled throughout the years and his diverse assortment of less-than-conventional hosting roles.

In an impressive career milestone, New Zealand-born actress Rebecca Gibney was honored with the TV Week Hall of Fame Award.
