August 5 Will Be a Great Day for Demon Slayer Fans
As a result of the forthcoming events, the series maintains its steady progression, extending far beyond the conclusion of the original comic book.
Due to the success of the series, it was a logical decision for CyberConnect2 and Arc System Works to create a sequel to their 2021 fighting video game, Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles. Now, a fresh trailer has been unveiled for the second installment in the series, highlighting the Swordsmith Village Arc from the game’s story mode, slated to launch in North America on August 5, 2025.
Sega Releases New Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 Swordsmith Village Arc Trailer
The latest trailer presents over two minutes of in-game scenes and gameplay, highlighting the game’s stunning visuals that closely resemble those seen in the popular anime series. The trailer also unveils several new characters set to appear in the game, such as Muichiro Tokito from the Mist Hashira. Additionally, it showcases some of the demon enemies, featuring Gyokko and Zohakuten, who are key antagonists during the Swordsmith Village Arc.
Indeed, it’s evident that the upcoming game will include all the playable characters from the initial release, offering a diverse roster of more than 40 options for head-to-head battles in Versus Mode. This is quite a leap from the original game’s launch lineup of 24 characters back in 2021. Interestingly, each Hashira character will be present in the sequel, even though some of them haven’t been integrated into the storyline as presented in the Story Mode yet.
On March 5th, it was announced that the U.S. release date for the game would be on August 5th, and also disclosed that the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game would become available earlier on July 31st. Moreover, several versions of the game will come with character unlock keys, granting players instant access to those characters when they start playing, instead of having to unlock them through the story mode. Players who link their save data from previous games, titled The Hinokami Chronicles, will receive additional bonuses. Some editions even include different battle outfits as costumes.
