Aubrey Plaza’s new movie confirms Prime Video release date
As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a knack for unconventional narratives, I can confidently say that Aubrey Plaza’s latest venture, “My Old Ass,” has piqued my interest like no other. The premise of a teenager meeting her future self after a psychedelic trip sounds reminiscent of a trippy video game quest, complete with warnings about life choices and transformative summer adventures.

In a new film that opened to universal acclaim with a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, we meet Elliott Labrant, portrayed by Maisy Stella. During a psychedelic mushroom experience, Elliott encounters her own adult self, played by Aubrey Plaza.
It’s been officially announced that the movie will debut worldwide on the streaming platform, Prime Video, starting from November 7, having been shown in UK theaters earlier this month.
The film titled “My Old Ass” is the creation of director and screenwriter Megan Park, who earlier directed the movie “The Fallout“, featuring Jenna Ortega, in 2021.
In the film, it’s depicted that Elliott uses drugs during her 18th birthday celebration, and there she encounters her witty, 39-year-old version.
Yet, as her ‘elder years’ begin issuing guidance on matters that her younger self should consider, Elliott comes to understand that she must reassess all aspects of her family, love, and the changing season ahead.
In this project, Margot Robbie has joined as a producer, and among the cast members are Maddie Ziegler, Kerrice Brooks, Maria Dizzia, Seth Isaac Johnson, and Carter Trozzolo.
As a gamer, I was thoroughly delighted by the overwhelmingly positive reception of my old game. The Guardian even went so far as to describe it as a hilarious and endearing comedy that seemed reminiscent of a young adult novel with a touch of rougher-around-the-edges charm.

In recent years, Plaza has kept a bustling schedule, appearing in the second season of “The White Lotus” last year (2022) and more recently in the Marvel series titled “Agatha All Along.
My Old Ass will be released on Prime Video on November 7.
