Aubrey Plaza unexpectedly appeared on Saturday Night Live, joining the cast for a funny skit called ‘The Hunting Wives‘ during a night filled with famous guests.
Oh my gosh, you guys, when she showed up for the 50th anniversary special earlier this year, I almost lost it! And then, during the show, they played this pre-recorded sketch with Amy Poehler, and the whole audience just *exploded*! Seriously, everyone went wild when she appeared on screen. It was the most amazing thing ever, I swear!
The actress, known for her role in Parks and Recreation, appeared in a fake trailer for the second season of the Netflix show, which was released in July.
The video began with a voiceover announcing that millions of viewers watched the first season of ‘The Hunting Wives,’ a show described as a scandalous drama featuring conservative women and unexpected relationships. The show is now returning for another season.
SNL cast member Chloe Fineman played a newcomer to the town and could be seen walking into a house.
Oh my gosh, when Amy Poehler came on as one of those hilarious ‘hunting wives,’ I nearly died! She was wearing this amazing, super low-cut green dress, and she just casually sauntered in and said, ‘Well, look what the cat dragged in!’ It was *perfect*. Seriously, that moment is burned into my brain forever.

The video then featured quick glimpses of the characters, like them sharing drinks in a kitchen or going hunting as a group.
I was absolutely stunned when I saw some of the fake reviews popping up online! One particularly wild one, supposedly from People magazine, compared the product to ‘Call Me By Your Name’… but for women who shop at Bass Pro Shop! Honestly, it was a head-scratcher, and a perfect example of how far some will go to create buzz – or confusion!
Near the end of the pre-recorded sketch, the narrator announced that things would get even more chaotic with the arrival of a new character.
Plaza then appeared as she strolled up to the women who were sitting outside sipping on mimosas.
The actress took off her sunglasses and greeted everyone, saying, ‘Hi, I’m new to this area. I recently moved from California.’
Poehler explained, ‘We’re just making mimosas. Pull up a chair.’
Plaza confessed she’d never made a mimosa before, and Fineman playfully offered to teach her.
The scene shifted to Fineman standing near Plaza as she poured champagne, telling her to ‘just take it slow’.

Other women gathered and lined up behind them, their hair blowing in the breeze as music played softly.
When asked if she has a boyfriend, Plaza replied, ‘I don’t have a boyfriend. I have a girlfriend.’
Everyone startled and quickly drew their weapons. The video ended with a voice warning, ‘The Hunting Wives season two. Definitely don’t watch it on an airplane.’
Netflix released the first season of ‘The Hunting Wives’ in July, and it’s been popular enough to get a second season!
According to IMDB, the story centers around a woman who relocates to East Texas and falls under the spell of a charismatic socialite named Margo. This leads to a dangerous entanglement involving obsession, seduction, and ultimately, murder.
The first season featured a cast including Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Evan Jonigkeit, Katie Lowes, and Dermot Mulroney.
In February, for SNL’s 50th anniversary celebration, Plaza introduced the musical performers, Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard.
It’s been a really difficult time, and I was touched to see Maya out and about again. This was her first time appearing publicly since the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Jeff Baena, who sadly passed away in January. It’s never easy, and I admire her strength in facing things after such a tragedy.

The actress was also wearing a tie-dye shirt that once belonged to her late husband.
The newest episode featured unexpected appearances by celebrities like Tina Fey and Seth Meyers, both of whom previously starred on Saturday Night Live.
Poehler joined the Weekend Update segment for a joke-off and both Fey and Myers also took part.
When the two of them joined Poehler, the audience immediately burst into enthusiastic cheers and applause.
Colin Jost and Michael Che, the regular hosts of Weekend Update, joked extensively about a Tennessee woman who recently gave birth to a 13-pound baby.
Between 2004 and 2006, both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler presented the ‘Weekend Update’ segment. After Fey left the show, Mike Myers replaced her.
Poehler took part in other sketches throughout night while Role Model was the musial guest.
Saturday Night Live’s 51st season kicked off this past weekend, and singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter will be hosting and performing as the musical guest on October 18th.
