Attention junglers! The monsters Atakhan and Feats of Strength will no longer be available in League of Legends starting in 2026.
To keep the game fresh and prevent players from getting tired of the same challenges, Riot Games will remove the Atakhan and Feats of Strength objectives from League of Legends in 2026. You can find details about all the upcoming objective changes for 2026 here.
Atakhan is Ata-gone
Honestly, the biggest improvement they’ve made is getting rid of Atakhan. When they added him this year, it really threw the game off balance. A lot of us remember when he had two different forms, but they took that away along with the extra Voidgrubs a while back because there was just too much going on with the objectives. It feels way better now that he’s gone.
Now that Atakhan is no longer in the game, the Blood Roses and Petals items are also being removed from League of Legends. Additionally, Baron Nashor will once again spawn at the 20-minute mark.
Zaahen killed Atakhan in the Twilight’s End cinematic, too.
Feats of Strength
We’re removing Feats of Strength, which means you’ll again receive 100 gold for getting the first kill and 300 gold for taking down the first turret.
The League of Legends development team shared that they appreciated how previous updates encouraged teamwork and gave players clear objectives. However, they believe they can build even better game mechanics that give players more control and freedom in how they play.
Epic Monster changes
Other goals within Summoner’s Rift are also being updated, and they’ll look quite different in 2026 compared to how they appear now.
Epic monsters like Dragons, Baron, Rift Herald, and Voidgrubs will be 15% tougher to defeat. Additionally, Dragon Vengeance – a bonus that makes these monsters even more durable based on how many dragon buffs a team has – will be stronger. These changes are designed to give teams more opportunities to fight over and come back from behind in fights around these important objectives.
The upcoming changes to the jungle role quests will help junglers more easily take objectives like towers and dragons.
Epic monster rewards
Expect to earn less gold from most powerful monsters. We’re also making changes to experience gains – some monsters will give more experience, and others will give less.
Voidgrubs and Rift Herald will be made a little stronger. The benefits of defeating dragons and Baron Nashor will also be increased, making it easier to recover when behind.
Epic monsters now grow stronger based on their own level, rather than just how long the game has been running. This makes things more consistent across all game modes, and it’s especially important with the upcoming changes to Swiftplay that will impact how quickly champions level up at the beginning of a match.
